HOW DOES YOUR DOG BECOME A BAHAMIAN CHAMPION?

OR WIN AN OBEDIENCE TITLE?

To become a Bahamian Champion, 10 points must be earned. A Challenge Certificate will be awarded to the best dog or bitch in each individual breed, providing that dog is of Championship quality. The Challenge Certificate will be equivalent to 5 points. It will be necessary to win 2 Challenge Certificates to reach 10 points, and the dog must earn 10 points by showing under 2 different judges. (Hence the two separate shows). It will be possible for a dog to be placed 1st in its class but not receive a Challenge Certificate – this decision will be made by the judge. You must enter both days to attain a Championship title.

An Obedience title is obtained by getting qualifying marks of 170 or more in 3 classes under 2 different judges. You must enter 3 classes to obtain an Obedience title. Dogs may be entered in Novice & Open simultaneously; however, a qualifying score in Novice is required. On the second day you may enter 2 additional classes if necessary. (Post entries $15 per class). Please note that jumps will not exceed 26” high. All dogs will be judged by AKC standards in both Breed and Obedience.

Graduate Open will be offered both days.
