Scenario / You are on work experience in one of the following settings:
  • aholiday complex for families with children who have additional needs
  • aday centre for older adults
  • ahostel for young homeless people
  • acommunity centre.
All of these settings are used by individuals with a variety of needs including visual and hearing impairments, learning disabilities and physical disabilities.
For this taskyou must choose one of the above settings to base your work on.
Task / Meeting Different Needs
You have been asked by the manager of your chosen setting to prepare and deliver a presentation to a new management team. Your presentation mustassess the effectiveness of health and social care provision, with regard to meeting the needs of two individuals with differing needs.
Your presentation must include:
  • a description of the differing needs of your two individuals as service users in health and social care
  • an explanation of the benefits of adapting health and social care provision to meet the diverse needs of individuals, referring to your two individuals
  • a description of how health and social care provision can be adapted to meet the diverse needs of individuals, with reference to your two individuals
  • your judgements as to whether the provision wasappropriate and sufficient overall based on the supplied evidence.

  • Observation record and/or a recording of the presentation.
