Friendship dinner (or brunch) groups now forming! Sign up now (through 22 Jan) to join a friendship dinner (or brunch) group. Get together with about eight people (often four couples, but singles are very welcome), meeting four times (once each in February, March, April, and May) as each group decides. Hosting rotates and all share in bringing the feast. Friendship groups are strictly social—sometimes dinners, sometimes brunches; sometimes in a home; sometimes a meal at a local restaurant. The only constants are good food and good fellowship! Friendship groups are what the members of each group decide to make them, and meals do not have to be elaborate. The focus is on friendship and sharing, not on staging elaborate sit-down dinners. Meals can be served buffet-style and be as informal as a picnic. It is a chance to visit and socialize outside of church with people you already know, but more importantly, with people you do not know. Don’t miss this opportunity to make new friends and get to know others better. Fill out the sign up on the other side of this page, send an email to . Let us know if you prefer to join a daytime or an evening group.
The focus of Friendship Groups are fellowship, conversation, and conviviality. They are not a House Beautiful tour, they’re not a Martha Stewart showcase, and they’re not an Iron Chef cooking competition. Don’t want to host a sit-down dinner? Plan a menu of finger- and fork-food that can be eaten from plates on laps while sitting on sofas, chairs, or the floor. Or, when it’s your turn to host, arrange for the group to meet at a restaurant, or plan a picnic or and host a cookout at a park.
