A thank you to the community.
December 24th, volunteers delivered food and toys to most of the 290 families benefiting from our 2013 Christmas Basket Program. One of the volunteers returned with a handwritten note. This is why we do what we do . . .
“I want to thank everyone that has helped my family this year. My husband was laid off 2 years ago and had to go back to school. He is studying to be a nurse now. We really from the bottom of our hearts appreciate the help. Our 3 children will be happy to have a nice Christmas dinner together tomorrow. We hope to make a donation after we get back on our feet. God bless you and Merry Christmas!”
We thank our community for coming together in support of the Christmas Basket Program and the ongoing need for food assistance. Schools, churches, businesses, civic organizations, and residents collected food, socks, & toys, made cash donations, and provided sponsorships.
