BIO 599/799 Wetland Design and Restoration Techniques
Field Based Course, 2 credit hours

May 23–27, 2016: Field course at Maywoods, 8:30am to 4:30pm each day
May 30–June 3, 2016: Online Reading and Assessment
Students will receive practical training in how to design, restore/construct, and plant wetlands and will help construct a wetland.
Registration fee for workshop (includes housing): $790.00
Participants are allowed to reside in the lodge at Maywoods during the course at no additional charge.

BIO 599/799 Wetland Assessment and Monitoring
Field Based Course, 3 credit hours
Instructor: Stephen Richter
May 30–June 10, 2016 at Maywoods, 12:00 pm – 3:00 pm each day
June 13–17, 2016: Online reading and Assessment
Students will learn to assess wetland condition by using a wetland rapid assessment method, by using standardized approaches for monitoring populations of amphibians, plants, and other organisms, and by testing water quality.
Registration fee for workshop (includes housing): $1050.00
Participants are allowed to reside in the lodge at Maywoods during the course at no additional charge.

These courses are available to take simultaneously as workshops (not for college credit) or for college credit at the undergraduate or graduate level through the EKU Department of Biological Sciences. For participants that do not enroll for course credit through EKU, certificates of completion will be provided. Complete a registration form to register as a non-credit course. If you are interested in taking these classes for course credit, please contact Dr. Stephen Richter () for information on how to enroll and for tuition rates. Cost of tuition for college credit depends on whether taken as undergraduate or graduate student and whether instate or out of state.
