Rules for Oldenborg Friendship Suites 2016

How to apply:

  • Each member of the proposed suite must submit an Oldenborg Language Hall application (via Sakai).
  • Together the group submits one Oldenborg Friendship Suite Application (scan and send to or submit hard copy to the Oldenborg main office).
  • All materials must be submitted no later than Friday, March 11th.

Oldenborg Friendship Suites are comprised of four students. This is because Friendship Suites will be placed into the Oldenborg quads. Consider providing backup names incase someone from the original group drops out (e.g. to take Sponsor) prior to Monday, April 4th.

At present, Oldenborg has seven quads that are open for Friendship Suite applications.

Oldenborg Friendship Suite status will be confirmed and students will receive Oldenborg placement during the week of Monday, March 28th.

If your Friendship Suite application is denied, all members of the group will automatically be entered into the pool for the relevant language hall. (If you don’t want this, we ask that you email us at ; the information will help in configuring the language halls.)

Suite members do not get to choose the location of their quad. Oldenborg will place Friendship Suites based on the languages of the group and the proximity of the relevant language resident and/or language hall.

Placement in an Oldenborg Friendship Suite is binding. Suite members will not receive Oldenborg room draw numbers and do not show up on Oldenborg room draw day.

Students in Oldenborg Friendship Suites are still considered part of a language hall and will be expected to fulfill the conditions of the Oldenborg agreement just like any other Oldenborg resident.
