Admission Information

Dear patients and their family members:The following information is offered to you to assure you a comfortable stay in our hospital.

A. Ward Facilities

1. Intercom: Press the red button to speak to our nursing staff over the intercom

2. Ice machine and drinking fountain are located in the kitchen next to the nursing station. Water from the drinking fountain is OK to drink when the green light is on.

3. To prevent infection and assure safety, electric heaters of any kind are prohibited inside the ward. Those that are found in the ward will be taken into custody until the patient is released from the hospital. Please make use of the electric heater in the kitchen.

4. Washing machines are available in W31, W41, and W92. Hanging wet clothes on the IV stand or at the windowsill is prohibited.

5. Telephone: Telephones in the single and double wards may be used to make and receive calls. Dial “0” before making local calls. (Long distance calls are not available.)

6. Wardrobe: Please use wardrobe in accordance with your bednumber, and don't put any valuables in it.

7. Do not move the desk, chair or bed without approvalso that the movement of the staff in the ward will not be interfered.

8. Please keep the ward and the bathroom clean.

9. IV stands and wheelchairs are for public use, so please return them immediately after use.

10. Bed sheets provided by the hospital are for patients only. If you need extra ones for family members, please check them out at the nursing station. A fee of NT$100 will be charged for each extra bed sheet.

B. Asking for permission to temporarily leave the hospital

To ask for permission to temporarily leave the hospital, the patient must first ask for the responsible doctor’s consent and signature before filling out the application form and completing the procedure at the nursing station. (According to Article 16 of the Regulations for NHI Medical Care, the patient is not allowed to stay overnight outside the hospital.)

C. Meals

1. Ordering meals: Regular meals with main dishes of rice, noodles, andrice porridge to choose from and many other special diets, such as low sodium or low dregs, are offered by our kitchen. Based on the suggestion made by the responsible doctor, patients may order their meals at the nursing station.

2. Prices: Tube-fed meals are covered by the National Health Insurance. Other meals (NT$106 for regular meals per day and NT$180 for special diets per day) shall be paid by patients on a daily basis.

D. GarbageClassification

1. Flammable garbage: For garbage such as paper, shopping bags and etc., please put it into the “transparent general bag.”

2. Infectiousgarbage: For garbage such as used phlegm tubes, used tampon with blood and etc.,please put it into the red “infectious bag.”

3.Recycling garbage: Such as iron cans, aluminum cans, glass bottlesand etc., please put it into the recycling garbage can near the nursing station.

E. Other Notices

1. To protect the patients, visitors please wash your hands frequently and wear masks at all times. Decreased number of visitors is preferable. Up to two family members are allowed to stay overnight with the patient.

2. Please attend to your belongings and avoid bringing with you cash in excessive amount and valuables. (For cash, please use the ATM on the first floor of this building.)

3. If you need to apply the certificate of diagnosis or IC Cards for Severe Illness, please tell the doctor before being discharged.

4. For patient’s health and a safe medical environment, smoking and betel nut chewing are prohibited in all buildings, including inside the restrooms.

5. Please keep your voice low in the ward and the hallway.

6. Telephones at the nursing station are not for the patients or visitors to use, but will take messagesfor them. Telephones in the single and double bed wards may be used to call military numbers. Those who stay in economy wards may use the phone in the Political Warfare Office on second floor.

G. Suggestions and Complaints

4. Superintendent’s mailbox: One is located next to the Information Desk and the other at the Registration Counter, both on the first floor.

5. Suggestions & Complaints box: A total of 13 boxes are located on all floors and every ward.
