Project Ideas

In the final phase of the Isopod Habitat Challenge, students work with their teammates to review and summarize their learning. They then present what they learned to a public audience. The presentation may take many different forms, including the following:

PowerPoint

Students use PowerPoint to create a slide show that documents their learning. The slide show must include both text and pictures that documents their learning. Every group member must contribute to the final slide show. This means that each person will create at least one slide, each group member will edit the entire slide show and, and everyone will agree upon the final content.

Recorded News Broadcast or Talk Show

Students develop and act out a script for a TV show that will describe for their audience all that they learned. The broadcast or talk show must include a news anchor or host, and at least three interviews. The broadcast will be recorded digitally and shown to the audience. Every group member must have a role in the development of the script. Every group member must speak during the broadcast or talk show.

Informational Brochure

Students create a tri-fold informational brochure that documents your learning. This brochure will be made using a word processing program such as Microsoft Word or Microsoft Publisher. Every group member must contribute to the final brochure. This means that each person will create at least one section of the brochure, each group member will edit the entire brochure, and everyone will agree upon the final content.

Informational Poster

Students create an informational poster means that documents their learning. Every group member must contribute to the final poster. This means that each person will create at least one section of the poster, each group member will edit the entire poster, and everyone will agree upon the final content.
