CONDUCT

Conduct of the LEE Golfer

Proper conduct is a critical part of our program. You are the guest of each golf course and, as such, you always represent LEE High School and our community.

ALL golfers are expected to adhere to the following guidelines:

1.  Players will always wear a collared shirt (tucked in) and the proper foot wear to practice and all tournaments. NOTE: This is not open for negotiation and failure to comply will NOT become an issue. The first violation of this rule will result it removal from the practice facility. The second violation is grounds for removal from the team!

2.  Players will practice/play every day. On days Coach Hud or Coach Easter are not there, players will follow the LEE Golf Team Practice Regimen or play competitively against their teammates.

3.  Players must report on time to tournaments and practices or face consequences at team workouts – including removal from the team.

4.  Students will adhere to the Midland I.S.D. extracurricular Code of Conduct. Players who violate these policies are subject to removal from the team.

5.  Verbal abuse to golf course employees, Coaches and teammates will result in dismissal from the team.

6.  Destruction of property and/or use of profanity on the golf course will result in dismissal from the team.

7.  Golfers will always check in with the Coach or pro shop for available tee times.

8.  Players who fail more than one six-weeks will be dismissed from the team.

9.  Players who miss the bus/rental car or miss their tee time for a tournament will be suspended from playing in their next scheduled tournament.

10.  Players will show respect to all Coaches (no matter what school) at all times.

11.  Tournament Play: Players are NOT allowed to have a cell phone on the course. Leave the cell phone at home or in the school vehicle. If you are worried about the safety of your phone, hand it to one of the Lee Coaches. If caught using a cell phone during tournament play, rules state the player will be disqualified. In addition, the player will face disciplinary action by the Coach which may include removal from the team.

12.  Follow all these rules and you will have a great experience being a member of one of the best golf programs in Texas!!

Transportation

Each student will be responsible for providing their own transportation to and from practice every afternoon. The school will provide transportation to all out-of-town tournaments.

Communication with Coaches

Do NOT text a Coach for any reason. Speak to them in person or call them.

This is a district policy.

ADDITIONAL GUIDELINES FOR TEAM REMOVAL

All golfers are expected to practice and play with integrity, adherence to the PGA Rules of Golf, the rules of the practice/tournament facility and the rules setout in all LEE Golf Team documentation. In addition to the reasons for dismissal/removal from the team listed on the Conduct page, please note the following additions:

CHEATING

Any reference to a teammate cheating during tournament play, qualifying rounds, or practice rounds, will be dealt with on an individual coach/golfer/parent basis. Any mention of the offense AGAIN will result in the accuser’s removal from the team.

MISSING PRACTICE

Missing practice on a consistent basis for any reason will result in removal from the team. Work, choir, band, etc is no excuse for missing practice. However, if a practice will be missed, you must contact Coach Hud prior to the absence to seek approval of the absence.

GRADES

Two six-weeks report cards (during any reporting period) with failing grades in any class will result in removal from the team for one calendar year.

DISCIPLINARY ACTIONS

Office visits as well as ISS, AEP, or detentions will result in tournament suspension. Repeated offenses will result in removal from the team.

FINAL WORD

You teammates and Coaches expect your full participation, positive attitude, and desire to win. If, at any time, your goals do not match these expectations, you should reconsider your future as a member of the golf team – or, the Coach will consider it for you.

Summer Golf

All LEE golfers should participate in the following, if possible:

1. Play in 5 or more summer tournaments

2. Take lessons

3. Play in City of Midland Junior Tournament (Hogan Park)

Your commitment to your individual play and your team will be a reflection of your Summer workout. Our first major tournament for the 2011-2012 school year is September 9th-10th for both the Boys and the Girls at the Red Raider Fall Classic in Lubbock, Texas. It is a must that you show up in the Fall ready to play. Do NOT assume that you are on the first team. Everyone must earn their spot.

I appreciate the support of all parents regarding these rules. If any parent or player has a question or concern regarding the Lee Golf Team Rules, please contact me immediately to discuss.

In support of family time, every attempt should be made to contact me prior to 7:00 p.m. I appreciate your limiting calls to no more than 15 minutes.

Thanks,

Coach Hud
