Learning Objectives
- The learner will understand the special needs of their patients and other vulnerable groups with respect to community resources.
- The learner will demonstrate the ability to liaise with appropriate community resources in the care of a patient.
- The learner will demonstrate an understanding of the range of activities and organizations that will promote the well-being of his or her patients (e.g., community agencies, self-help groups, advocacy).
Description
During Wednesday afternoons twice in each block of clerkship, students will be asked to arrive at the Middlesex London Health Unit for a 1.5-hourdidactic seminar on the important role of the public health office in the community with a specific focus on infectious disease surveillance and prevention.
They will be given time for lunch and travel to the experiential learning site. Community partners to host the students from 2-4pm on Wednesdays throughout the year. Each group of clerks will include 8-9 students on scheduled Wednesdays.
During the final day of each block, after meeting with the Clerkship Director to provide and obtain feedback about their rotation.

- Directions-Turn into the complex and park in the centre. The unit Is #6 in the southwest corner of the complex. Look for the blue/green sign that says “HealthZone” on it.
