Job title: International Recruitment Officer

Contract duration Permanent (after 6 months’ probation period)

Job Purpose

To attract, source and identify talents for International Medical Corps. Reporting to the Human Resources Manager based in the UK, you will be responsible for full circle pro-active management and operational recruitment for your assigned country programmes.

KEY RESULTS AREAS - PRIMARY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

·  Responsible for driving the attraction, sourcing and selection processes and ensuring that hiring plans are met for assigned country programmes

·  Be accountable for complete full circle recruitment process up to Country Director Level

·  Ensure that recruitment practices are compliant with International Medical Corps recruitment policies, procedures and legal requirements

·  Bring recruitment expertise to help International Medical Corps define appropriate attraction strategies and ensuring that recruitment is aligned with the organisational business needs

·  Build strong working relationship with hiring managers and to meet on a regular basis to discuss hiring plans so as to ensure that the current and future hiring plans are met

·  Understand the business requirements of International Medical Corps to enable accurate talent recruitment

·  Understand the international external recruitment markets and to have knowledge of recruiting within these markets, so as to be able to update the organisation on the trends of the labour market within the sector.

·  Use competitive analysis to understand hiring needs and recruiting practices in the sector where key talent can be found.

·  Attract and source candidates through innovative and effective advertising using careers website, job boards and appropriate advertising.

·  Recommend appropriate assessment methods and ensure that appropriate assessments are in place for all candidates going through the International Medical Corps recruitment and selection procedure

·  Short-list candidates and conduct first interviews

·  To interview with the hiring manager if applicable and to imbed competency based interview process ensuring evidenced based hiring decisions

·  Influence and advise hiring decisions by working closely with the hiring managers

·  Ensure the candidates understand fully the role and the skills and the experience needed

·  Provide the candidate with clear examples of the projects that they will be working on and ensure that the candidate is excited about the opportunity of working for International Medical Corps

·  Select candidates based not only on skills possessed, but also cultural organizational fit

·  Deliver full feedback to successful and unsuccessful candidates

·  Extend offers to successful candidates and ensure that all international assignee’s packages are within our international package guidelines.

·  Negotiate the offer package with the candidate and any potential counter-offers

·  Work with the hiring managers, HR International, Security, travel team to ensure full on-boarding procedures are in place for the new starter: develop candidate care procedures to ensure that future team members are fully prepared to start in their roles as quickly and effectively as possible:

·  Liaise with L&D and HR to ensure the continuous development of the on-boarding process and amend where necessary

Working Relationships

·  Reports to Human Resources Manager, UK

·  Work as part of the wider International Medical Corps Operations in close coordination with:

§  Security, travel, International Recruitment and Human Resources

§  Regional Coordinators and Desk Officer (US) who manage and oversee field operations

§  Country Directors and hiring managers

§  Technical Advisors

§  Regional Finance controllers

Person Specification

·  Equivalent combination of education and experience in recruitment/Human Resources

·  Extensive International recruitment experience in humanitarian/development sector

·  Experience with HRIS systems including proficiency in Microsoft office

·  Good knowledge and understanding of employment law

·  Self-motivated, positive attitude, flexible and adaptable to the needs of team and organisation

·  Experience in working remotely and supporting field based team

·  Excellent people skills

·  Communication skills

·  Strong organisational and time management skills

·  Proficient in English

·  Proficiency in French would be an added advantage

·  Ability to work under minimum supervision

·  Experience of working in health and Nutrition sector

·  Good level of numeracy
