Senior Project Manager/Division Leader

Serve in dual roles: Senior Project Manager and Division Leader. Provide leadership for software development projects (Federal government contracts). Ensure timely and on-target delivery in support of 3 contracts and 5 projects. Supervise and mentor Project Managers. Manage 5 Senior Developers with oversight of ~20 developers. Interact with clients directly. Map out project work plans. Keep track of staff performance and budgets. Partner with the division’s Senior VP to define strategic goals, develop new business, and author winning proposals. Leverage numerous technologies for projects, including Delphi, MS SQL Server, Classic ASP, ASP.NET, and ACCESS.

Summary of Projects: Led high-level projects involving Windows, Web systems, and SAS. Sample projects: Biomedical Research Support Administrative Database; Investigating the Use of Child Support Administrative Data for Research Purposes; and websites for the Association of Public Policy Management and NIH (Undergraduate Scholarship & Office of Loan Repayment), among others.

Selected Project Highlights – National Institutes of Health: Directed the initiative to build a website that publicized and makes available for download and analysis, Proteomics data from 7 geographically dispersed research centers (vaccines, diagnostics, and therapeutics to counter lethal bacterial agents).

·  Drove a 5-year, $8.7 million contract and ensured the delivery of all contract requirements serving in the role of Principal Investigator.

·  Spearheaded the development of customized management systems, which combines client server and web infrastructures.

·  Secured beneficial partnerships, contributed to the development of proposal writing, and oversaw the work effort of subcontractors.

·  Led a 10-member team from the Virginia Bioinformatics Institute and Georgetown University, Protein Information Resource.

Additional Contributions:

·  Identified, hired, and retained top talent for most web development projects: 20 staff out of a total of 90. Promoted the use of on-line job boards to find and recruit candidates.

·  Coordinated training for the entire company, including bringing in speakers, facilitating the Professional Development Committee, and making arrangements for staff to attend courses, among other tactics.

Search technology developer; the company was formed by the merger of Excalibur Technologies and the Interactive Services division at Intel.

Senior Technical Trainer

Planned and delivered comprehensive training at diverse levels of complexity. Taught basic users, software administrators, and C developers on the effective use of the company’s flagship document search software product for enterprises. Traveled to sites in the US and Europe to conduct training.
