HOW TO GET THERE? Consider printing and bringing this page. We are not very easy to find, local roads and names are sometimes confusing.

VILLENEUVE LOUBET. We are not near the old VL VILLAGE in the interior (left), but in VL PLAGE on the coast. However, we are not near the landmark Marina Baie des Anges harbour with waving pyramid condos around it (right) either.

Furthermore, we arenotnear the departmental PARC de Vaugrenier, but in the Domaine HAUTS de Vaugrenier hills to the North. We are not in the new RESIDENCE La Pierre au Tambour, but in the ALLEE de la Pierre à Tambour, inside the Domaine. Some of those other places are not even close.

CONNECTIONS. There are three parallel roads of different rank passing through the area: the A8 motorway, the D6007 (former N7 national road), and the D6096 Bord de Mer seaside road. (The railway track runs between the latter two). The only entry point to our ‘gated’ Domaine is on the last exit of the D241 access road to the motorway, from East to West (details below).

PUBLIC TRANSPORT (between Nice and Antibes).

Slow train stop Villeneuve Loubet Plage, front exit/ land side brings you on the D6007 departmental road, the former N7. Bus 200 and others follow the same road, stop ‘Marina’. Note: both still require a 2- 3 km. walk up the hill.

BY CAR. GPS/ TomTom: If entering ‘Allée de la Pierre a Tambour’ does not work, use the main ‘Avenue des Hauts de Vaugrenier’.

Do you come from the West (Cannes, Antibes), or from the East (Nice, Aeroport, Cagnes)?

FROM THE WEST. Three possibilities:

• From motorway:take exit 46, make a full U-turn at the first roundabout, take access road back to the motorway and then its last exit (immediately in the curb, under/ after overpass).

From departmental road D6007 (former N7): In Villeneuve Loubet Plage, after the first overpass, there is a first roundabout. Take more than 3/4, follow arrows to D241 access road (black on yellow + A8 motorway (white on blue) + (Dom.) Les Hauts de Vaugrenier (black on white). Pass another roundabout, take access road to motorway and then its last exit (immediately in the curb, under/ after overpass).

From the seaside road (‘Bord de Mer’): after passing the ‘Marina Baie des Anges’ waving pyramid condos on your right, take the left lane, pass two successive traffic lights. Then make an almost U-turn, follow A8 to Antibes/ Cannes/ Aix sign, cross two bridges, keep left, follow arrows to continue D241 access road (black on yellow), A8 motorway (white on blue) and (Dom.) Les Hauts de Vaugrenier (black on white). Pass two roundabouts, take access road to motorway and then its last exit (immediately in the curb, under/ after overpass).

FROM THE EAST. Three possibilities:

• From motorway: take exit 47, pass through exit booth, take ¾ of roundabout, (ignore ‘VL Village’), instead follow ‘VL Plage’ and ‘Bord de Mer’, This will bring you on the D6007 provincial road (former N7): further see next sentences. (PM. Ignore the exit back to the motorway). Then:

From departmental road D6007 (former N7): continue until you see a large Mercedes Benz sales outlet on your right. Take 1/3 of the next roundabout, follow arrows toD241 access road (black on yellow) + A8 motorway (white on blue) + (Dom.) Les Hauts de Vaugrenier (black on white). Pass one further roundabout, take the access road and then its last exit (immediately in the curb, under/ after overpass).

From seaside road (‘Bord de Mer’): after the Cagnes Hippodrome you enter VL Plage, and see a ‘Géant Casino’ supermarket with ‘Comptoir’ on your right, followed by a Burger King fast food outlet. Keep the left lanes (the right lanes continue the Bord the Mer). Pass two bridges. At the roundabout follow arrows toD241 access road (black on yellow) + A8 motorway (white on blue) + (Dom.) Les Hauts de Vaugrenier (black on white). Pass one further roundabout, take the access road and then its last exit (immediately in the curb, under/ after overpass).

ON THE DOMAINE ITSELF

Gate. The right lane is reserved for registered residents with a badge or recognized number plates, the barrier raises automatically. The left lane is reserved for visitors. Just mention our name to the guard, who may wave you through or call first.

Hamlets. The Domaine is subdivided into a dozen or so ‘Hameaux’ (Hamlets), indicated by arrows (green on white). The official name of our hamlet is ‘Les Ambasssades’.

AT THE HAMEAU ‘LES AMBASSADES’

Parking. Follow the main Avenue des Hauts de Vaugrenier, bending slightly to the right, until you see a sign ‘Les Ambassades/ Hameau No. 3’ on your right. Try to park there, f.i. (after turning, on the other side of the road).

Intersection. Here is the intersection with the Allée de la Touraque on the left, and the Allée de la Pierre à Tambour (Road of the Tambourine Stone) branching off to the right. We are at the very very beginning.

FOOTPATH & STEPS

Take the very first footpath to your right (paved in dark red asphalt). Immediately turn right again, past the letterboxes opposite number 5. Turn left and descend the flights of steps to the bottom. We are at number 9 on the left, opposite number 4 on the right (the numbering is illogical).
