£23,188 per annum (NJC Scale 6 Spinal Point 27)

This post will be funded initially for one year
Job Purpose / The main purpose of this role is to build local micro and social enterprise organisations around health and social care, and
to work with health and social care colleagues to build effective partnership working around social enterprise, appreciating it’s potential to build new cultures of care.
Main Duties / Contribute to the achievement of Voluntary Action Angus’ overall organisational objectives and targets
Build the capacity and confidence of individuals who are wishing to start up a social enterprise, including business planning support
Build local micro enterprise organisations to develop and respond to future care needs
Foster growth within social enterprises, increase trading activity, innovation and business development
Raise awareness and increase understanding of the work of social enterprise within Angus and the added value it brings
Engage effectively with partners and other external organisations
Foster a culture of mutual support and co-operation amongst social enterprises and arrange networking events
Identify training needs and co-ordinate a training programme and events
Represent Voluntary Action Angus at a range of working groups, meetingsand networks relevant to the social enterprise sector
Provide reports and updates on activities

Person Specification Criteria

Essential / Desirable
Business/entrepreneurial experience, including financial and business planning / Management/Business/Leadership qualification
General understanding of running a third sector organisation / Experience of running a social enterprise
Ability to demonstrate flexible and innovative thinking
Ability to demonstrate skills in relationship building
Ability to be self-directed and motivated
Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of people
Good organisational, administration and time management skills
Competent IT skills, use of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher
