Title I Parent/Teacher/Student/School Compact

This compact has been jointly developed with parents, outlining the integral responsibility of parents, school, staff, and students.

Parent/Guardian Agreement

I want my child to achieve. Therefore, I will encourage him/her by doing the following.

  • See that my child is punctual and attends school regularly with the necessary supplies.
  • Support the school in its efforts to maintain proper discipline.
  • Establish a time for homework and review it regularly.
  • Stay aware of what my child is learning by making periodic visits and communicating with the teacher.
  • Return report cards and attend parent teacher conferences.
  • Develop a partnership with the school to help my child achieve the State’s high standards.
  • Encourage my child to be respectful and follow the Student Rules of Conduct.
  • Keep the school informed regarding any changes in family situations (telephone numbers, address, health, and custodial issues.
  • Volunteer and visit my child’s classroom on a regular basis.
  • Read with or monitor to see that your child reads each night.

Student Agreement

It is important that I work to the best of my ability. Therefore I will strive to do the following:

  • Come to school on time everyday, with supplies needed for classroom work.
  • Listen, follow directions, complete and return homework assignments.
  • Wear proper uniforms daily, neat and tucked in.
  • Respect others and follow the Student Rules of Conduct.
  • Take responsibility for my actions and grades and cooperate in all learning situations.
  • Read for 15-30 minutes each school night.

Teacher Agreement

It is important that students achieve. Therefore, I shall strive to do the following:

  • Provide homework assignments for students and assistance to parents to help with assignments.
  • Encourage parents to visit and/or observe their child’s classroom on a regular basis.
  • Use rigorous activities in the classroom to make learning enjoyable.
  • Use telephone, email, webpage, newsletter, or written communication to update parents on a regular basis.
  • Read to or with students daily.
  • Provide instructions that foster high academics and increase student achievement.
  • Respects every student and ensure that every child knows they are valued and respected.

Principal Agreement

I support this form of parent involvement. Therefore, I shall strive to do the following:

  • Provide a safe environment that allows for positive communication between the teacher, parent and student.
  • Provide parents with a description and explanation of the Curriculum in use at school, forms of Academic Assessments used to measure student progress, and the Proficiency Levels students are expected to meet.
  • Provide multiple opportunities for Parent/Teacher Conferences in the fall, spring and during the academic school year.
  • Provide parents multiple opportunities to volunteer, participate, and observe their child’s class.
  • Ensure that parents have the opportunities to make suggestions, and participate, as appropriate, in the decisions relating to the education of their children.
  • Ensure that teachers and students strive toward high expectations academically, socially and physically.
  • Ensure that teachers are using rigorous instruction to improve students’ achievement.
