M.A. Meets W.I.T.C.H.

Cezille07

The WITCH girls stumble upon Old Mill under the direction of the Oracle because of "strange activity"! Of course it's only Zick and Elena on their monstrous adventures, but they don't know that...YET.

When two different realms cross: Two kinds of magic, two kinds of adventure, and two kinds of friendship from the two greatest comic magazines ever! Will and the gang pop in from Kandrakar to stop and contain all the monsters in Big Burg. What are Zick and Elena going to do to save the day this time?

Disclaimer: Both MA and WITCH don’t belong to me. I just did this for fun, and because I miss them terribly, now that both of them are gone....But I know they’ll live forever in the hearts of the many who remember them—that’s us!

Will: “C’mon girls, it’s this way.”

Cornelia: “Right, let’s go.”

Irma: “That blasted Oracle’s going out of his bald, shiny head again. Why here? What’s in this old village that’s for us, the great, young Guardians of Kandrakar, to handle?”

Hay Lin: “Be reasonable, Irma. We’re here already, let’s just do it. And stop blabbering nonsense before I do something to you.”

Irma: “Seriously. There’s always some extraterrestrial hanging around in other planets. But not here. I don’t see anything.”

Taranee: “Quiet, I hear something. I’ll keep you all in Telepathic contact...”

Their voices echoed around them in the trees, in the flowing river, in the air, the valley—all of which gave them an eerie sense that someone was watching.

But leave them there. The sun is just rising, not too far from the forest, and there, where the air runs free and light seeps into even the darkest houses, life has just begun.

RRRRRRRRRRRRRIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINNNNNNNNNNNNNNNGGGGGGGGGGGG!!

Greta: (her head appeared in Zick’s bedroom door) “Get up and turn that alarm clock off, Zick! It’s eight in the morning! Why are you still in bed?!”

Zick: (barely opening his eyes) “What? WHAT? Eight o’clock? No way, I’ve been asleep for only ten minutes.”

Greta: “Make that ten hours! Now hurry up, Elena’s waiting for you in the living room.”

Zick: “She’s here already?”

Greta: “Yes! Didn’t you say you had to leave somewhere early today?”

Elena: (from downstairs) “Zick, where on earth are you? I’ve been waiting here all morning! Our report’s not getting anywhere if you lie around all day!” (loud sigh) “If you’re not down here in ten minutes I’m going by myself!”

Zick: (yelling) “WAIT!”

He got up, his body resisting every form of motion. But she was right, they had to go. It was another of those days you feel like sleeping all day, and it happens just when something important was up. Perfect timing for a report on the beginnings of Old Mill village. And with Elena nagging him like this, it looks like it’s going to be a hell of a boring day. That is, unless Magnacat miraculously shows up again.

Elena: “Finally! I thought I was rotting back there.”

Zick: “Don’t exaggerate that much, I made it in ten minutes like you asked.”

Elena: “That was more like ten times ten minutes! What on earth did you do?”

Zick: “What else? I didn’t even bathe, I just brushed my teeth. Luckily I got my things ready last night.”

Elena: “That took you so long?”

They were laughing like nothing in the world was out there waiting for them. But five women were hiding behind the school gates, waiting for the right time to attack their prey.

At the right moment, Irma sprang out from behind her bush and grabbed Elena’s arm.

Irma: “I have you now, evil creatures!”

Zick: “What?”

Elena: (struggling) “Zick, what’s going on? Who is that? I can see her!”

Cornelia: (looking thoroughly embarrassed) “Sorry. It looks like we had the wrong suspicions.”

Will: (confused)“They’re young, they’re just kids. Why did the sensor pick them up?”

Hay Lin: “Yeah, I don’t get it.”

Irma: (sighed, released Elena) “That bigwig’s really out of it. We’ve made a total fool out of ourselves, in front of tiny fourth graders.”

Elena: “Excuse me, miss, we’re fifth graders. We’re not that small, are we? And why the hell did you think we were your evil creatures? There are tons out somewhere out there, and they’re hunting us down! That oughta be enough for one Tamer and his assistant!”

Cornelia: “Tamers? Other evil creatures?”

Irma: “This place must be infested. Look how old it is. It’s falling apart.”

Elena: “It’s not! And you owe us an explanation: WHO ARE YOU?”

The girls looked at each other, certain of their answer.

Will: “We are WITCH. I’m Will, and these are my friends, Irma, Taranee, Cornelia and Hay Lin. We’re the Guardians of Kandrakar, the Center of Infinity. We were sent on a mission to examine this place because of ‘strange activities’, our Oracle told us. And we’re horribly sorry you guys got into this.”

Taranee: “A memory charm will do for them.”

Zick: “No, wait! You don’t get it. This place...it’s really filled with monsters! But you have to have the gift of Sight Dom to see them, and only Keepers and Tamers have it.”

Elena: “Hey, your names, combined, they’re like some acronym.”

Irma: “Cool, huh? And we’re the protectors of the universe. So what can you do?”

Elena: “Lie around and make sure we don’t get eaten by Gorkas.”

Irma: “Ugh, I don’t get you. I don’t know about you Will, but I’m outta here. Kids these days!”

Elena: (raising a fight-ready fist) “Good idea! Stay out of our zone! We’re the good guys here.”

Cornelia: “We’re sorry for the trouble.”

Zick: “No problem.”(scratches head)

Will: “Let’s go, girls.”

Shrugging, both parties left in their separate ways. But their destinies had only become more intertwined....

They walked around for the rest of the morning, and under the guise of tourists who had never been to Big Burg. It proved an excellent breeding ground for unlikely monsters.

Irma: “Monsters! Get a load of that! I mean, we face them all the time. They looked so funny the way they said it, especially that crazy little boy.”

They were huddled in the table farthest from the door, and nearest the corner inside Old Mill Restaurant.

Taranee: “Don’t talk like that. Didn’t you see how serious they were? Maybe they’re right. Maybe the ones we’re looking for are creatures WE can’t see. They can help us.”

Irma: “I’ll let that happen in the next century. Meanwhile I’d like the idea that the world is circular and that kids make everything up.”

Will: “What’s gotten into you?” (stands up) “You’ve been like this all morning. Picking fights even with those kids.”

Irma: “Well I’m sorry I can’t control myself, but today’s been freakishly weird.Don’t you know what today is? It’s the anniversary of our Astral Drops’ freedom. Remember all the trouble they caused us? Now we don’t have doubles anymore, and things are getting too freakishly out of hand! That Oracle’s—”

Hay Lin: “Well that’s our problem. We’ve learned to let it go and adjust to a life without a cover. And will you stop talking about the Oracle like that? If he hears about this he'll fire you.”

Irma: “Fire me? That's crazy. We're Guradians!”

Cornelia: “Exactly why you can't behave like this.”

Irma: “Great. Miss Perfect's at it again."

Will, Taranee, Cornelia and Hay Lin exchanged confused glances—like, “What the hell is wrong with her?”

Well, they were right that Zick and Elena could help them. This happened almost exactly the same way with everyone else...when Mask of Fire began his reign of terror.

Zick: "So we're here, but I have no idea what your idea is."

Elena: "Simple! Trust me on this. This is gonna be real great—"

Zick: "But what are we going to find in this old warehouse?"

Elena gave a fake, angry stare.

Elena: "Remember? The river...my were-rabbit Puffy? And from you, The greatest moment, ruined by my bad aim! Funny, actually. That moment was so memorable it found its wayinto my diary."

Zick: "You have a diary? Never knew."

Elena: "You know almost nothing about me, Mr. Zick.” (smiles proudly) “For example, did you know what my favorite color is?"

Zick: (guiltily) "No."

Elena: "HA! See? Well, I'm not telling you." (bows victoriously) "On second thought, if you don’t find out, I’m doing this report on my own. I’ll get all the credit—"

Zick: (panicking) “You can’t do that!”

Elena: “Oh yes I most certainly can! It’s easy. I can’t almost believe you don’t know. Now give it a guess, or give it a rest.”

They walked around for half an hour, and found the spot where they first saw Puffy the were-rabbit. The place had no evidence of human intervention: the scratches on the wall, the dirt and mud on the floor—nothing changed.

Elena: "So what do you think?"

Zick: "I still have no idea what you're up to—"

Elena: (blushes, shuffles feet) "‘Old Mill and a Tribute to Friendship'. It's gonna be all about how Old Mill started. I've done some research, and you know what...it's like our story."

Zick: (nervously) "Our story?"

Elena: "What? It'll be informational, and at the same time it’ll be personal! Ms. Swift’s gonna be proud...that wedon't think ofhistory as boring but even...interesting."

Zick: (nervously) "Interesting?" (blushes intensely)

Elena: “If you have any better ideas then speak up. And my color!”

Zick: “Oh fine let’s do your crazy idea!”

Elena: “And eventually all people will agree with me ‘coz my idea’s the greatest! First the class play and now you. None of you trust me—”

Zick: “I trust you!” (covers mouth)

Elena: (grinning victoriously) “Okay.”

Will: (whispering) “There they are.”

Cornelia: “What’re are those kids doing in a horrible place like this?”

They were huddled behind a small bramble bush downstream of the river. Ahead, Zick and Elena were still walking, talking about their report, headed for the underground tunnels.

Taranee: “Whatever they’re doing, they know it well. They don’t seem to be protecting themselves from my telepathy. No shields. It’s just them. They know what they’re doing.”

Will: “Hmm, we can’t cross out the possibility that they’re just human kids. But there’s something supernatural about them, if it’s not magical, don’t you think?”

Cornelia: “Yeah.”

Irma: “Or they could be just plain crazy. Look, guys, we still have no clue as to why baldy led us to this place. It’s almost completely normal, except for those two. We can look around elsewhere.”

Hay Lin: “They know about the ‘elsewhere’ we need to look for. We need to negotiate with them.”

Irma: “Then they can be saving the world in our place and we can relax like hell.”

Hay Lin: (rolls eyes)

Taranee: “They’re going into the one of the entrances.”

Will: “Let’s go. Low profile, got it?”

They skirted down the edge of the river, silently following their subjects.

Irma: “I feel something.”

Cornelia: “I bet it’s your stomach and you want to go home. Or something else too complicated for your brain to process!”

Irma: “No, it’s like you’re getting hypnotized into doing things you’re told.”

Will: “Girls, enough!”

Voice: “Actually, that is enough. Why are you following us?

They gulped. Zick was using the Tone on them and they didn’t know it. And though they didn’t know it, because they were magical beings, they were subject to his power.

Zick: “I don’t want to have to say it again.”

Elena: “Yeah, fear the great Tamer! Hahaha!” (laughs evilly)

Irma: (sceptical) “Uh huh. Sure.”

Hay Lin: “Will, I can’t move!”

Will: “Zick and Elena—those are your names, right?”

Elena: “Thanks for remembering, but you anguanas—”

Cornelia: “Anguanas?”

Elena: “Well, those are what old, ugly witches are called.”

Cornelia: “I may be a guardian but I certainly make sure my hair doesn’t fall out of place!”

Elena: “Hmm, and your wrinkles are well-hidden too.”

Cornelia: “Wrinkles?! Absurd!”

Will: (exasperated) “Okay, okay. We’re sorry we had to resort to this. Our friend Irma here had some doubts about you guys. But we need your help.”

Zick: (sarcastic) “Sure, after spying on us. That’s really great.”

Will: “We were sent here by the Oracle. We belong to a planet called Earth in the Solar System, in one of the universes nearby—”

Elena: “Um, we’re from Earth too. Where do you think you guys were? Outer space?”

The girls looked at each other in confusion.

Will: “We’ve done that. In Kandrakar, the Center of Infinity, that’s where we received instructions to come to this place to suppress evil forces.”

Zick and Elena reflected looks.

Zick: (to Will) “Well, we have a lot of that, but I hope you’ve heard that there is a good and a bad side even to monsters. Some of them are under our family’s care, and the ones we’re looking for right now might be what you came here to fight. And lucky for us, or maybe lucky for you, we’re fighting on the same side against this new, dark force that’s been causing some strange phenomena, the most obvious being humans’ anger flaring.”

They all looked at Irma.

Irma: “What?”

They nodded.

Taranee: “Okay, I get it. So in your part here, there are monsters we can’t see. You have some ability to see and control them. We’ve encountered stranger versions of that same storyline.”

Elena: “But you’ll never see anything like Zick’s Taming powers!” (proudly) “My best friend here can do anything with those things. Only, I wish I could see them too, you know.”

Will: “Great. I’m glad we’ve got this sorted out. Now let’s go look for that creature.”

Elena: “Get used to the term monster. That’s what we’ve got a lot of.”

Will: (smiles) “Alright. Monster hunters, let’s go.”

Elena: “Cool name for our group.”

Irma grimaced.

Zick: “Whatever. Just don’t start calling me Superhero or I’m going back home.”

They entered the tunnels.

Zick: “There’s a concentration of that negativity in this area. You feel that?”

The WITCH girls nodded.

Elena: “All I know is I wish I know what you guys know. And see.”

Irma: “For once I agree with you, midget.”

Elena: “Midget, huh? When we’re done, we’ll see who’s smaller under my fist.”

Hay Lin: (smiles) “Well, that’s for sure. He’s here.”

Zick: “Like I said.” (shakes head) “Let’s move around over there. Something’s giving an awful stench—” (sneezes) “—which means what we’re looking for is close.”

Elena: “Yeah!” (to WITCH) “Hear that? That’s an authoritative observation from an expert Tamer!”

Zick: “Okay, that’s enough Elena.”

Cornelia: “I heard it. What was that? You got a cold?”

Zick: “It’s my allergy.”

Elena: (enthusiastically) “To monsters!”

Cornelia: “How are we going to get this guy if you’re sneezing all the time, then?”

Elena: “Just trust him! He’s the greatest! It helps us find them easily.”

Zick: “Thank you for the introduction, but can we please go now?”

They went on a few meters. Something small brushed against their feet.

Hay Lin: “I think that was a rat.” (sighes thankfully) “Good I didn’t see it, or else I’m out of here.”

Irma: (teasing) “Don’t you know they use rats for burgers?”

Elena: (irritated) “Hey that’s enough! I love burgers!”

Zick: “Quiet.”

They all fell silent.

Zick: (motioning to the wall) “There’s a presence behind this wall.”

They looked at the wall.

Irma: “For once I know what it’s like to be a normal person. You’re getting all the fun.”

Zick: “Quiet! He can hear us. For all we know he’s watching us right now.”

Elena: “Zick. Listen, are you getting the feeling this has happened before?”

Zick: “Shh! Let me try something....”

He held out an arm to touch the wall. Instantly he was thrown back a couple of meters.

Elena: “Zick! Are you okay?!”

Zick: (getting up) “Yeah. Be careful around there, he’s here alright.”

Will: “Let us try something of our own.”

The WITCH girls formed a semi-circle in front of it. In a blinding flash of light, a small sphere materialized in Will’s palm.

Will: “Heart of Kandrakar, show us this creature!”

Another bright flash of light, then suddenly the wall was translucent, dark but see-through. There was a dark shadow hiding and indeed watching them.

Cornelia: “I’ve never seen anything like it.”

Elena: “You can see it?! Why can’t I see anything! I can’t—”
