PRAYER PARTNERS INVITE YOU TO PRAY
Each week the Prayer Partners invite you to pray with us for a specific concern. Our nation has just been through a very divisive, contentious campaign. Please pray that we can come together as a nation. Pray that we will listen to one another, rather than shutting each other out. Pray that we can learn to see all people as children of God regardless of our differences.
ADVENT WORKSHOP
The Advent Workshop will take place in the FLC on Sunday, November 27, during the Sunday School hour, from 9:45-10:45 a.m. Make an ornament and visit activity stations to celebrate the Advent Season. There is no cost or RSVP. A free-will offering will be taken. ALL ARE WELCOME! This is not a youth or family-only event.
MUSIC NOTE FOR WORSHIP
Jesus encouraged his disciples to always be ready for the tests and trials that will somehow surely come. Our Hymn of the Day, On Jordan’s Stormy Bank I Stand (ELW 437) focuses our attention on the reason why: we belong in that place where, as the hymn says, “No chilling winds or poisonous breath can reach that healthful shore.” The poem was written by Seventh Day Baptist hymn writer Samuel Stennet (1727-1795). In it, we are reminded that our true citizenship as Christians is in heaven. PROMISED LAND (the name of the tune) appeared in 1835 as part of a collection called Southern Harmony, which waspublished by Appalachian tune researcher William Walker (1809-1875).

We expect to help over 100 families again this year. Please bring only new toys and place them (unwrapped) in the collection box in the Gathering Area by December 11th. Toys/gifts suitable for pre-teens and teenagers are also needed, and cash donations are welcome for PCU to purchase gifts.
