  • Key themes within the room: Policy, experience, learning and organisational development.
  • Ethical questions – the extent to which we disclose or research interests. Methodological choice – what does that raise?
  • What are our roles in research? – establish a relationship with people. Boundary Conflicts.
  • Language and Translation – do we share the same meanings?
  • Key Themes: Engagement, relevance, learning, application
  • ENGAGEMENT – engage the audience. Captive what it is that you are going to do and why. What are you saying to the audience? Don’t let detail obscure the key questions – focus on the SPINE of the argument.
  • RELEVANCE Why is what you are saying relevant to the audience. Why does the research matter and why is it important? Locate what you are doing ion the wider context of literature – contextualise.
  • LEARNING Obligation and sense of obligation to share your learning, other thanacademia. Disseminate in other areas than academic journals.
  • APLICATION whatnext, another piece of work? Will your write a paper? Engage in joint collaboration or enquiry? What will you do with the research?

WORKSHOPS

  • Triangulation.
  • Process A. Do research – disseminate
  • Process B. Do research – check – disseminate research. Debating the process of research. Research as continually renegotiated process. No dissemination. Sharing the whole time. Knowledge embedded.Insightimmediately applied. Burns (2007) Coffman
  • Importance of research feedback to your research
  • Ways to disseminate:
