Members Present: Mr. John RandlettChairperson,Mr. Mike Ahern,Mr. Bill Bolton,Mr. Neil McIver, and Mr. Bryan Dutille

Members Absent:

6:00 pm. Mr. John Randlett called the meeting to order and Mr.McIver led in the Pledge of Allegiance.

Approve Minutes:

  • BOS Non-Public W/S February 27, 2017

Mr. Ahern made a motion; seconded by Mr. McIver to approve these minutes. All in favor.

  • BOS minutes February 27, 2017

Mr.Ahernmade a motion; seconded by Mr.Boltonto approve these minutes. All in favor.

  • Mr. Bolton made a motion; seconded by Mr. Ahern to approve these minutes. All in favor.

Mr. Ahern made a motion; seconded by Mr. McIver to approve these minutes. All in favor.

Announcements:

  • The Select Board will meet on the following dates:

Regular meetings – 6:00PM: Monday, April 10th, and 24th2017.

  • Work review sessions prior to the regular meeting will start at 5:00PM.

All of the above meetings will be held in the Town Hall, unless otherwise posted

  • Citizens wishing to be listed on the Select Board’s Agenda should notify the Town Hall before 12:00 PM the Friday before the scheduled meeting.

Chairman’s Comments:

Mr. Randlett began by thanking the Board for election as Select Board Chair.

Mr. Randlett will also be sending a letter to the State Representatives inviting them to attend Select Board meetings on a quarterly basis to keep the public informed.

He went on to encourage the public to come to these Select Board meetings and voice their opinions and/or concerns. (Letter attached)

New Purchase Orders:

  • Joe Fagnant– Pete’s Tire Barn; Backhoe and Loader tires: $5,300.00

Mr. Ahern made a motion; seconded by Mr. McIver, to approve this purchase order. All in favor

  • Joe Fagnant– New England Kenworth; Dump Truck purchase: $90,889.00
  • Joe Fagnant– HP Fairfield/NH; Custom truck parts/accessories: $66,368.00

Mr. McIver made a motion; seconded by Mr. Bolton to approve both purchase orders.All in favor.

New/Other Business:

Committee Reports:

  • Mr. Ahern announced thatall are invited to the Chamber’s 2017Jump aboard Kick-off event at Fosters,Tuesday, March 28th, 2017 from 5:00pm – 7:00pm. This is an opportunity to see local businesses and to learn about Chamber membership. Upcoming events also include a Spring mixer open house and wine tasting at the Fairfield Inn & Suites on April 5th from 5:00pm – 7:00pm, Business After Hours April 18th from 5:00pm to 6:30pm at Boomerangs, the annual Chamber golf tournament May 24th at Owl’s Nest golf club and the Chamber Journey log at Rocky World Camp in Holderness, on June 6th.
  • Mr. Bolton attended a Planning Board work session meeting. Time limits have been placed on some of the action items.
  • Mr. McIver attended a Conservation Commission meeting. There is a possibility that they may have a new member soon, but there is also, another position available, if there is anyone interested. Budget matters were discussed, funding from Town meeting, and ongoing trail and parking lot maintenance. Proposals are being worked on in order to study wildlife management in the Baker Valley wildlife area along the river and Tenney Mountain Highway. Mr. McIver will be attending a conference in Sturbridge on erosion control, so that he will have more knowledge about hydrology.
  • Mr. Dutillestated that the Park and Recreation Commission will be meeting on the second Tuesday of April.
