Description of the job
Assisting the Commentary Systems team the Commentary Support staff are the ambassadors for UEFA at the immediate broadcast commentator level. They will be available to make sure the broadcasters are happy with their equipment set up, and liaise directly with their Manager should there be any issues the Broadcasters have during the set up or the match. They will be in touch with the Commentary Systems Audio Engineer to call them to rectify any technical issues the broadcasters may experience.
The Commentary Support team plays a very important role in the overall commentary service delivery. Following technical training provided, they will be able to assist in basic technical tasks under supervision such as plugging in and set up of cabling and operations of the commentary equipment (after training). On non match days they will be assigned HB or Big Screen TV production duties by the Production Manager on site.
Required skills
Interest and/or knowledge in Audio, previous work experience in this area an asset / Due to the nature of the position, a high level of physical fitness is required
Able to remain calm and collective in busy environments / Outgoing and friendly with excellent communication skills
Ability to remain concentrated and focused to the task in hand despite the demanding work environment / Fluent Language skills required in English & Ukrainian, other language skills such as French, German, Italian or Spanish would be an asset
Job Information
Approximate working days / 12 days in total (see example work schedule below).
Approximate working hours / 10 hours per shift(can be more on match days, depending on business needs).
Salary / 50 Euros per day.
Salary Payment / 1 payment for all days worked at the end of the tournament.

Reserve Pool & Payment Structure
The purpose of the reserve pool is to have people on stand-by to cover any urgent absences at the venues. If you are selected for the reserve pool you will be expected to be available on all days during the tournament and come into the venue at short notice to work.

Payments are made on the following basis:
  • If you are not called in during the tournament to work you will be paid a retainer fee of 100 Euros.
  • If you are called in to work and attend, you will be paid the relevant daily rate in addition to the retainer fee.
  • If you are called in to work and fail to attend, you receive no payment.

Important awareness
The Commentary Support should be focused on what is happening in their working area and be able to react quickly to the needs of the Commentators at the stadium. This means that your interest should be on what is happening in your area of responsibility not on the football match or the occasion itself.
The job will involve shift work, with possible late night finishes, and work on weekends. Therefore please ensure that your study commitments do not clash with the needs of the position and that you are able to manage both at the same time.
