DaviessCountyXC Invitational (6K Relay format) at YellowCreekPark
The DaviessCountyXC Invitational will be held at YellowCreekPark near Owensboro on Saturday August 29th.
The varsity races will be a 6K relay format. Each school will pair their runners and may enter 5 pairs(10 total runners). Each partner will run 3,000 meters with a baton. The first of each pair will hand off to his/her partner after this leg (3,000 meters) and the second runner will run their 3,000 meter leg and onto the finish.
Places will be determined by adding the places of your top 3 pairs. Coaches may pair their 10 varsity runners in any manner they desire. Remember to bring your own batons for each of your pairs! We will try to have some extra batons for sale, but obviously cannot furnish enough for the entire field.

Instructions for DC 6k Relay
1. Coaches are responsible to make sure each of their athletes complete the proper course.
2. Each middle school and JV runner must have a competitor # on their right hand. Use the permanent marker.
3. Only the second runner in each varsity pair will have a competitor number.
Write the number so that the bottom of the number is toward the wrist and the top of the number is closest to the wrist – we do not want confusion for our helpers reading the numbers at the end of the chute --- write neatly.
4. Please be courteous and let our scorers do their job without interference.
5. No one will be allowed in the finish and exchange corner of the course. Stay behind the flagged off area.
6. Please use trash bags and pick up your area before you leave
7. Keep your athletes hydrated.
