Automotive glass - the future of Automotive Multitouch PCs
The Automotive glass system describes a touch panel which was designed to be used in mobile working machines. With a convincing luminosity of 1600 cd/m² the 12.1 inch multitouch display enables a perfect legibility even under intensive insolation.
The high sensitive light sensor integrated in the front glass adapts the display brightness to the one of the environment. The display lighting counting 60000 operating hours half life makes the Automotive glass one of the best "endurance runners" on the automotive market.
The iMX6 QuadCore 1 GHz processor from NXP® offers a generous computing power. 1 GB RAM and 4 GB NAND Flash enable a fluent and performing work with complex software applications.
The casing of the 12.1 inch Automotive glass is made of anodised aluminium and distinguishes itself with its high-quality processing. The optic perfection is obtained by numerous constructional details such as the bevelled display frame. With a depth of 41 mm and a weight of 2.4 kg the Automotive glass looks like an opened tablet PC installed in a driver's cabin.
The Automotive glass computer can be configured so that the boot procedure begins with the application of the ignition signal, making it ready to operate within seconds. Voltage peaks are often unavoidable in working machines and are intercepted by means of an integrated Load Dump Protection suppressor circuit.
The redundant CAN interface, several serial interfaces, numerous USB interfaces as well as a 1 GB Ethernet connection serve the communication. The extended supply voltage range allows the unlimited operation even with a very low battery.
The Automotive glass works completely under passive cooling and without mobile electronic elements, which would be subject to vibrations and permanently lead to failures. The extended operating temperature range and the IP65 complete protection even allows the use of Automotive glass out of a protecting driver's cabin.
A loudspeaker offering the best sound quality even when machines run, is integrated on the back side of the device.
Christ Electronic Systems GmbH realises individual wishes such as the logo integration in the front glass, the free selection of the colour of the touch glass, the colour of the anodised casing and the adaptation of the electronic hardware.
With the new Automotive glass touch panel Christ Electronic Systems GmbH opens a new chapter regarding multi touch PCs in mobile working machines.
Best regards
