Stella's House, LLC Rules and Regulations

Fundamental Rules:

NO MEN ALLOWED ON WOMENS PROPERTY.

Any physical or verbal threats and/or acts of violence are grounds for immediate discharge.

Use of narcotic medication is not permitted.

Use of ANY kind will result in immediate discharge. This includes: alcohol, illicit drugs, unauthorized prescription medications, and abusing/misusing approved medications.

Any signs of active addiction behaviors and/or signs of using, even if your drug test is clean, will result in immediate discharge.

Love people in active addiction from a distance.

Participating in the manufacturing and/or distributing of any type of drug is strictly prohibited and will result in immediate discharge. Any illegal activity while living at Stella’s House is strictly prohibited and will result in discharge.

Contraband items include, but are not limited to: drugs/alcohol of any kind, drug related paraphernalia, weapons of any kind, and foods containing poppy seeds.

ANY theft from the house and/or property will result in immediate discharge.

Smoking in the houses will result in discharge.

House managers have access to your area at all times.

Unapproved overnights are prohibited and will result in immediate discharge.

Management reserves the right to drug test any visitors at any time.

Children are not permitted to live with you, but in-house visits are allowed and encouraged.

As a member of a recovering community, based on principles of honesty and trust, we request any resident who has knowledge of another resident violating any of the rules & regulations report the behavior to management.

Resident must respect the confidentiality and anonymity of other Stella’s House residents.

Stella’s House, LLC is a “NO NEGATIVITY, NO HATE, NO DISCRIMINATION, NO BULLYING, NO SPITE” environment. Slandering/ defaming any resident and staff of Stella’s House is strictly prohibited.

RECOVERY IS MANDATORY

Drug Testing:

  • Randomdrug urinalysis andalcohol saliva testing will be done weekly.
  • If suspected of drug/alcohol use a resident will be tested immediately.
  • When asked by any of the house managers, residents must submit to testing. A resident must be supervised from the time they are notified about the test to the time they are done taking the test. Failure/refusal to comply within one hour will result in immediate discharge.
  • Any positive test will always result in immediate discharge.

Discharge:

  • Stella’s House, LLC cannot be responsible for any items remaining at the house/property after a resident has left the program for any reason. Reasonable effort will be made to safeguard items for a period of 48 hours, at which time they will become property of Stella’s House, LLC., to be donated or discarded upon our discretion.
  • All residents’ belongings left behind must be packed by the house manager and roommate in order to avoid theft and allegations of theft.
  • You cannot return after discharge without the permission of the director.

Prescriptions:

  • Drug abuse maintenance programs are not allowed and those seeking assistance will be referred elsewhere.
  • Upon intake, residents must have all authorized non-narcotic prescription bottles and/or paper prescription orders so they can be checked. Residents will be required to list all medication for Stella’s House records. Medication logs must always stay updated and current.
  • The use of any unauthorized medication must be approved by the director prior to taking.
  • Residents are required to provide prescription record print outs from pharmacy a few times a year and whenever clarification is needed.
  • All other medication must be kept in its original containers with visible label and in a lockbox.
  • Your medication is only yours, therefore you may not share any medication with any house member. Sharing of medication will result in discharge.
  • Residents will have to submit to regular pill counts. Pill counts will take place without prior notice.

Rent:

  • Cost of admission is $400.00. This covers a $100.00 admission fee and two weeks of rent up front. If you move in on a day other than Friday, the rental period will be prorated at $22 per day. The rent period runs Friday through Thursday and always paid at the start of the period.
  • Rent is due on Friday by 10pm of every week.
  • If rent is not paid by the time it is due, resident will be placed on LOAP until paid.
  • Residents are not permitted to fall behind in rent.
  • All rent mattersare always handled bydirector.
  • Rent paid in advance will not be returned for anybody in violation of policies.
  • If moving, we ask for advanced notice of 1 week.

Probation Period, Curfews, Overnights, and Twelve Step Requirements:

  • All new house members will be on a 30 day probation period and MUST attend a twelve step meeting per day.
  • During the probation period you are required to obtain a sponsor, home group, and employment.
  • During said probation period, each resident is required to fulfil 8 hours of volunteer service within our community. Proper documentation and proof is required.
  • You will be required to complete a “Recovery Foundation” form prior to graduation from the probation period.
  • Failure to satisfy the probation requirements will result in a contracted period of loss of privileges. (LOAP)
  • Meeting verification slips will be provided and checked every Sunday at the house meeting for compliance.
  • 5 meetings weekly are required for residents between 31 and 90 days who are off of the probation period.
  • 3 to 5 meetings weekly are required for residents after 90 days.
  • During the probation period, residents will only be allowed visitors in the houses Friday through Sunday.
  • Stella’s House female residents are not permitted to visit the male houses Monday Through Thursday, during their probation period. They are only allowed to visit the houses Friday through Sunday.
  • Weeknights are considered Sunday-Thursday. Weekends are Friday and Saturday.
  • You are not to leave the house prior to 6am unless for work or attending a twelve step meeting.
  • During the probation period, curfew is 11pm Sunday-Thursday / 12am Friday and Saturday.
  • After the probation period is completed, curfew is 12am Sunday-Thursday / 2am Friday and Saturday.
  • Visitors must leave all houses by 10pm Sunday through Thursday.
  • After the probation period is completed, you are allotted two overnights a week. Overnights restart every Monday.
  • In the case of a major holiday, one additional overnight will be granted for everyone.
  • Residents are allowed occasional in-house overnights with dependent children.
  • Notice of overnights must be given 24 hours in advance and must be approved by the house manager.
  • All parents are required to have “Child Liability Waver and Release” before dependent child is allowed to visit overnight.
  • Any residents with dependent children visiting overnight, will berequired to attend a minimum of (1) parenting group with a counselor, approved by Stella’s House.
  • Vacations are granted on a case by case basis and must be approved by management.

Loss Of All Privileges (LOAP):

  • For infractions that are not cause for immediate discharge you will be placed on LOAP
  • These infractions include, but not limited to:

-not obeying curfew

-refusal to pay any fines incurred, during that week’s house meeting

-failure to meet the appropriate twelve step meeting requirement for the week

-failure to display meeting verification slip during the weekly house meeting

-repeated behavioral issues

-repeated incomplete chore fines

-failure to satisfy the weekly rental obligation on the due date.

  • Loss of all privileges (LOAP):

-resident is required to be out of the house seeking employment between the hours of 10am and 4pm if unemployed

-attend at least 1 twelve step meeting per day

-no visitors

-no overnights privileges

-visiting other Stella’s houses is prohibited

-observe an 8pm – 10pm curfew every day, depending on infraction

-follow any additional stipulations made by management

Employment:

  • All house members must be employed, enrolled in school, or volunteering.
  • You must work a minimum of 27 hours per week.
  • You are considered unemployed until your first day of work.
  • All unemployed house members must be seeking employmentbetween the hours of 10am-4pm Monday through Friday.
  • If you are working past curfew you must show proof to the house manager.
  • Transportation is the resident’s responsibility. Stella’s House can refer to resource agencies that can assist with obtaining bus passes.

House Meetings/Sunday Dinners:

  • Occasional Sunday dinner/cookout will be provided.
  • There will be a weekly mandatory house meeting on Sunday at 10pm.
  • There will be a mandatory in-house recovery/spiritual group once a week, at every house.
  • House meetings are mandatory unless prior approval has been granted by the house manager.
  • There may be various meetings, trainings, and events that you will be expected to be a part of. You will be given advanced notice of any event where your presence will be required.

House Supplies/ Parking

  • The houses are fully furnished.
  • Household supplies, cleaning/laundry supplies, paper products, and otc pain relievers will be provided. Any non-essential household itemis to be covered by house fines.
  • Each resident is responsible for providing their own personal living essentials. These items are including but not limited to: twin size bedding, clothes, toiletries, beauty products, and food.
  • You are not permitted to bring furniture and/or mattresses into the houses.
  • Residents may not make any alterations and/or repairs to the property. Anything that needs maintenance must be reported to management so they can inform the director.
  • Residents are not allowed to move rooms without approval from house manager.
  • Private on-site parking is available to those with vehicles.
  • Each resident is allowed one vehicle. The vehicles need to be properly/legally tagged. Failure to do so may result in vehicle towing.

Room and Common Area Rules:

  • Rooms are to be kept clean at all times, which includes: floors, dressers, closets, beds, etc. Beds are to be made upon awakening.Rooms will be checked for basic cleanliness and order, daily.
  • Dirty laundry must be kept in a bag or hamper. All clean laundry must be neatly stored and placed inside closets/dressers.
  • Thorough room checks, checking fordeep cleanings and to make sure there are no contraband/paraphernalia, will take place once a week.
  • Clean dryer lint screen before and after every use. Do not leave finished laundry unattended in washer/dryer. Leaving clothing in laundry room will result in a fine.
  • Maintaining regular personal hygiene is mandatory.
  • Quiet time is between the hours of 11pm and 9am. Be mindful and courteous of others. Use of any electronics at a disturbing level is prohibited.
  • Always turn electronics, lights, and fans off after use.
  • The thermostat is to be adjusted only by management.
  • Tampons, sanitary napkins, and paper towels are not to be flushed in toilet.

Chores:

  • Chores are to be completedon Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday by 10pm.
  • Chores are to be checked off by the resident on the chore board to indicate completion.
  • Fines and/or a chore contract will be issued for any chore that is not complete.
  • Fines for incomplete chores are$10. All fines incurred are due by that week’s house meeting. Unpaid fines will result in LOAP
  • If you are on an overnight, it is your responsibility to still have chore completed.
  • Typical household duties are required daily. (i.e.: cleaning up after yourself in common areas, putting dishes away, etc.) Failing to maintain these duties can result in fines.

YOU CAN BE FINED FORANY HOUSEHOLD RULE THAT IS BROKEN AND FINES MUST BE PAID AT THE FOLLOWING HOUSE MEETING OR FURTHER PENALTY WILL BE ENFORCED.

STELLA’S HOUSE, LLC RESERVES THE RIGHT TO MODIFY THE RULES & REGULATIONS AT ANY TIME DEEMED NECESSARY

ANY DELEGATION, ASSIGNMENT, OR REQUEST MADE BY HOUSE MANAGER AND/OR DIRECTOR IS NOT MERELY A SUGGESTION; IT IS A DIRECTIVE THAT NEEDS TO BE ADHERED TO WITHOUT ARGUMENT IMMEDIATELY OR WITHIN THE TIME FRAME SPECIFIED.

LOST OR STOLEN PROPERTY IS NOT THE RESPONSIBILTY OF STELLA’S HOUSE AT ANY TIME.

THE PROPERTY OWNER AND/OR MANAGEMENT TEAM OF STELLA’S HOUSE WILL NOT BE HELD LIABLE FOR ANY ACCIDENTS AS A RESULT OF RECKLESS AND NEGLIGENT CONDUCT.

I, , have read and understand the Stella’s House rules & regulations. I understand that upon acceptance and entrance into the house I waive all legal tenant rights. I accept that I can be discharged from the premises immediately without due process of law, should it be determined by the house manager or director to be in the best interest of myself and/or other house members. Should I refuse to leave the premises upon discharge, the local police department will be called to escort me off the property.
