The Week of Halloween

By: Ryan E.

On Monday the class had two specials. We went to art first. In art we took a brayer, rolled it in paint, and then rolled it on our Styrofoam tray. We stuck a piece of paper over it then peeled it off carefully. We put our piece of paper on the drying rack. Then we washed off our Styrofoam board. After art we went to gym. We played a basketball game in gym. We had to pass but not dribble the ball. Once we passed the ball to the end of the court we had to shoot the ball into the net. It was amazingly hard even though it sounds easy. After gym we went to the classroom to pack for home.

Tuesday was the best day of the week because we had a day off. I bet a lot of people slept in and watched television. I can’t be sure but I know lots of kids love watching television. Anyway I would love to give a rundown of the day but I just don’t have enough time. Well I have to move on to Wednesday now.

Wednesday (or for just this week Halloween) was the best day the class has had so far. We went to gym in the afternoon. In gym we played a real game of basketball. We passed and shot making the other team work hard. After a lot of bumping, shoving, and pushing the boys game was won by the jerseys. I didn’t play with the girls so I don’t know their final score. All I knew was we were having a Halloween party after gym. When we arrived at the classroom our eyes met a party scene. We saw food in the commons, the game Memory on the tables, and brain teasers on the other table. When we looked at the interwrite board we saw the centers for the party. Sadly we had to miss one of the centers and the center we had to miss wasn’t our choice. We played limbo and Austin won because he’s the shortest boy in our class. We also got food at the food station (the best center in the rotations). Then we packed up for home filled with anticipation of trick or treating later that night.

Thursday was awesome. We went to music. In music we discovered we had a substitute teacher. The substitute said “clap rhythm 19 from our rhythm reader books.” After we finished clapping, the class got to play their recorders. When that was done we played the xylophones and the metallophones. A person got sent back to their seat for playing out of turn. Then we headed back to class and ended our week.

All in all we had a magnificent and exciting week. You may find this odd but people in class are helping me with this job. Look for me next week because I’m doing a slightly different project.
