Applications are invited for the following vacant positions:

1)  Title : Lab QA Officer X1

Department : Non-Medical Programs

Location : Johannesburg

Term of employment : Fixed term (3 years)


Duties and responsibilities include:

Lab QA management

·  Coordinate all Laboratory Quality Assurance and Quality Improvement (Lab QA_QI) activities on an on-going basis

·  Review and update Lab QA protocols, QA tools and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all relevant programmes

·  Ensure site compliance to Lab QA protocols

·  Ensure that all SFH testing sites achieve and maintain the certification criteria as per NDOH or relevant accreditation authorities.

·  Ensure availability of Lab QA resources, testing supplies and training materials’

·  Ensure the registration of each site conducting testing

·  Conduct lab trainings related to current laboratory practices in the relevant testing platforms

·  Coordinate DBS ELISA test results between NICD and SFH

·  Assist in compiling lab-related QA information and statistics to relevant stakeholders/ collaborators

Mentorship

·  Ensure effective mentorship programs for sites are implemented

·  Ensure continuous counsellor compliance for HIV and CD4 count proficiency testing schemes

·  Participate in site visit support and identify training needs

·  Ensure ongoing refreshers and/or assessments for all SFH testing personnel.

·  Ensure competency of all testing staff

Reporting

·  Development of appropriate Lab QA Monitoring systems

·  Ensure compilation of training and lab activity reports

·  Compile and submit monthly, quarterly, annual, project and site visit reports

·  Compile PT and competency reports for sites

Research

·  Conduct Lab QA evaluation(s) in partnership with key collaborators

·  Evaluate new test products and program services

·  Evaluate and validate products or services on offer

Requirements:

•  3 year relevant Medical Technology Diploma/Degree

•  Relevant training in quality management systems

•  Registration with related council

•  Drivers license

•  5 years’ experience post qualification within an appropriate laboratory setting

•  Relevant experience in lab Quality Management Systems and Assessment tools

•  Training experience
