Job purpose/summary

You will be responsible for sourcing and recruiting case studies to support the PR and Media team in our partnership with ITV Text Santa. You will also help develop Marie Curie’sdatabase of case studies, gathering stories across the organisation for other case study work.This essential service helps us to tell the story of our work and the difference we make. The experiences of patients and their families and carers enable us to influence supporters, decision makers and partners to work with us and raise awareness of and improve care for those living with a terminal illness.

You will source and interview case studies, collating, updating and promoting new material to key stakeholders across the organisation.

The ideal candidate will have solid experience of interviewing, writing and editing, a sharp understanding of what makes a good quote and a strong story.Verbal communication skills are also keyalong with the ability to be at ease talking to people of all ages and backgrounds about often very personal and difficult issues.
The ability to manage multiple priorities to sometimes very tight deadlines is essential.

NB: This role may require occasional travel

Duties and responsibilities

  • Source, interview, writeupand proofread new case study material, for key PR campaigns (ITV Text Santa), ensuring Marie Curie can tell its story effectively, with reference to key strategic priorities
  • Develop and maintain relationships with case studies and make sure they feel valued
  • Build strong relationships with colleagues across the Communications, Fundraising and Caring Services departments
  • Develop content from case studies and produce powerful quotes for different communications
  • Keep up-to-date records on case studies
  • Ensure all case study content follows the organisation’s house style and tone of voice.

  • Strong influencing and negotiating skills

  • Highly IT-literate

Knowledge /
  • Awareness of legal issues in relation to case study confidentiality, management and usage

  • Professional experience of interviewing and developing case studies for communication platforms
  • Experience of managing the needs and expectations of multiple internal and external groups.

  • Experience of copywriting for varied audiences – including marketing and service information copy, news and feature writing
