Letter of Support Template

This document outlines the requirements specific to Letters of Support for the Ocean Supercluster and a template Letter of Support that can be used by organizations. Please review the following information carefully. Submissions are required by email to by November 17, 2017.

REQUIRED BY:

  • All organizations who are NOT committing funds or in-kind contributions (post-secondary institutions, not-for-profit organizations, all other non-private sector organizations).
  • All non-private sector organizations who ARE committing funds or in-kind contributions.

FORMAT:

  • Letter must be a maximum of one page (additional content will not be considered as part of the application)
  • Letters must be on official letterhead.
  • Letters can be submitted as PDF or Microsoft Word documents only.
  • Letters cannot be dated earlier than the launch of the Innovation Superclusters Initiative’s application process.
  • Letters must be written in one of Canada’s official languages (English or French).

CONTENT:

  • Paragraph One: Explain organizational role within the Entity
  • Paragraph Two: Explain involvement in Entity’s activities
  • Paragraph Three (if applicable – committing funds or in-kind contributions): Any financial or in-kind contributions, including their value and/or fair market value, nature of in-kind contributions that the organization will make over the funding cycle of the Innovation Superclusters Initiative (March 31, 2022). Confirmation the contributions are for incremental activities that stem from the Entity’s Supercluster Strategy. How the organization will participate in projects and leverage or benefit from its involvement.

ENDORESEMENT:

  • Letters must be signed by a senior executive (e.g., C-level executive) with signing authority (not-for-profit organizations, etc.) OR by a senior representative (all other types of organizations, such as post-secondary institutions).

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

  • All organizations submitting a Letter of Support must also submit a completed Participants List Template (available on oceansupercluster.ca/support).
  • The ten participants providing the largest contributions must also submit a completed ISI Workbook for Project Funders and a Financial Attachment Form.
  • All Letters of Support and Participants List Templates must be received by November 17, 2017.
