NORMANDY TENTATIVE ITINERARY.
Flight Schedules to be determined. Depart from Indianapolis, IN on Tuesday, May 27, 2014 to Paris
Wednesday, May 28th -- approximately 8:00 a.m. from Paris Airport
Depart by Bus for Honfleur. We will stop in the romantic seaside
village for lunch on your own. There are numerous cafes surrounding the harbor.
Approximately 2 hrs after we arrive in Honfleur, depart for Bayeux.. On the way, we will stop at the Pegasus Bridge for a short tour and visit to the museum.
Check in at Hotel Villa Lara www. hotel-villalara.com … dinner on your own this evening.
Thursday, May 29Depart from Hotel at 9:00 a.m.
Today, we will visit Periers, Beaucodray and Hill # 122 with a local expert, Henri Levaufre.
In the afternoon, we will visit Utah Beach and the small museum located there. Admission to the museum is included. We will also visit Pointe de Hoc. . Lunch will be on your own. Again, we might recommend a picnic lunch that can be picked up in Bayeux.
Friday, May 30Depart from hotel at 9:00 a.m.
Today, we will visit the museum at Ste. Mere Eglise, admission included, and then stop in Gourbeville and have a relaxing and elegant lunch, included in your price, at Chateau d’ Audrieu. Back to Bayeux for the evening.
Saturday, May 31Depart from Hotel at 9:00 a.m.
Today, we will visit Arromanche, including admission to the museum We will visit Omaha Beach, the American Cemetery, and if time allows, the German cemetery. Lunch today is on your own. We recommend a packed picnic lunch or there will be snack shops available.
Sunday, June 1Depart from hotel at 10:00 a.m.
Drive and spend the morning and afternoon at Mont Ste. Michel…
Lunch on your own. This evening, we will gather for an included dinner with the Group to debrief our visit to Normandy and hear more of Carver’s experiences.
Monday, June 2Depart hotel for Paris at 11:00 a.m.
We will stop by Giverny for lunch and arrive in Paris late afternoon to check into our hotel. Hotel Napoleon.
Tuesday, June 3We will organize walking tours of Paris to Notre Dame, Le Louvre and down the Champs d’Elysee for those not familiar with the area.
Wednesday, June 4Depart Hotel for flight check in and return to Indianapolis.
COST: The 2014 Normandy trip will cost approximately $3600 per person, double occupancy. The trip includes round trip airfare from Indianapolis, bus transportation in France, Seven nights in 5 star hotels, all Museum admissions, daily breakfast, a gourmet lunch and closing dinner. Single occupancy is available for an additional supplement.
Cancellation:
Once you have made a payment, If you must cancel before 120 days prior to the trip, you will be entitled to a full refund. Between 120 days and 30 days prior to the trip, you will be entitled to a refund of the total trip cost less the cost of the airline ticket and any non refundable deposits paid to hotels and other vendors. If you cancel less than 30 days prior, there will be no refund. If you cancel after 120 days prior and the airfare has been paid, you may be entitled to an airline credit less the change fee assessed by the airline. Usually you have one year to use the value of the ticket minus the change fee set by the airline, currently at $300.00.
Trip Insurance:
You may wish to purchase trip insurance to protect your cost of the trip in case of a last minute emergency. Once you have placed a deposit for this trip, I will provide you with a brochure that you choose to you. There are other options on the website that available. .
Also, you can purchase trip insurance from AAA or another travel vendor. You can purchase trip insurance to cover limited situations or you can purchase insurance that will allow you to cancel for any reason. Prices and various plans are available.
Baggage: Most carriers allow for one free checked bag on international flights. You will be charged for a second checked bag. Please check the website for specific prices. You will be allowed a small carry-on and one personal bag. Please be sure you meet the specifications for the carry on bag so you are not surprised with a charge at check in.
