A graduate of the CAHME Accredited MHA program at the University of Pittsburgh, Dawn Gideon devoted her career to helping healthcare organizations succeed. In Dawn’s memory and to support the development of women leaders in healthcare, the Dawn Gideon Foundation and CAHME have established the Dawn Gideon Foundation Scholarship. The Scholarship is targeted to supporting women pursuing advanced education in healthcare management, and who have demonstrated a commitment to communities in need. Recipients will receive $2,000 and should embody the spirit and attitude of Dawn Gideon.

ELIGIBILITY
Full or part-time students in good standing in CAHME-accredited programs in the United States or Canada are eligible to receive the scholarship.
NOMINATION
The nomination will be made by a faculty member of a CAHME-accredited program. We will not accept direct applications from students. The application should consist of an essay of no more than 500 words describing how the nominee embodies a spirit of volunteerism and service that helps others.
SELECTION PROCESS
Nominations will be reviewed by the Dawn Gideon Foundation and CAHME.

DEADLINES and SCHEDULE
Applications must be submitted via email to Joe Morris at by 5:00pm on May 25, 2018. Nominations will be reviewed by the Selection Committee and the winner will be announced at the CAHME 50th Anniversary Celebration on June 12, 2018.
