IT Systems Support/Administrator

Concept

Responsible to the Operations Director and the IT Manager the IT Systems Support is responsible for effective provisioning, installation, configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure.

The role will participate in technical development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure and ensures that system hardware, operating systems, software systems fulfill the evolving requirements of the organisation.

This role is accountable for the following systems: Mac OS and Windows systems that support the internal infrastructure; Hosted Application systems that support financial, CRM, ERP, document management and messaging; Responsibilities on these systems include Systems Administration, provisioning, operations and support, maintenance and research and development to ensure continual innovation.

The Charity is also investing in business intelligence to drive scalable, operational change across the organisation. This intelligence is primarily obtained from the AbilityNet’s CRM/ERP system, NetSuite, with key benefits including greater accountability, fact based decision-making and increased productivity.

It is expected that Systems Supportplay a role in developing skills that help with maintaining existing process and functionality, and assist with the development ofadditional applications within the NetSuite system to support the operational requirements of the charity.

Working Conditions

  • Salary £22k to £27k

Responsibilities

  • Provide front line Technical Support for the entire organisations internal IT infrastructure (across 6 sites) investigating and troubleshooting, providing a resolution to hardware or software failures
  • Perform regular system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hosted systems, including NetSuite (CRM) and Exchange messaging platform
  • Perform regular monitoring, audit, upgrade and patching of all internal IT infrastructure and associated assets to ensure availability, reliability and security of user hardware and software resources
  • Work with the in-house Database Developer to assist in the on-going development of NetSuite process and functionality
  • Purchase of IT related hardware and software
  • Setup, testing and deployment of internal IT hardware and software resources throughout the organisation, both remotely and on-site.
  • Setup, testing and deployment of software and hardware for the fulfilment of client loan bank requests
  • Ensure the safe and timely receipt/despatch of all IT equipment (Goods in/out)
  • Maintain accurate electronic and paper based records for the tracking and reporting of all external and internal IT resources
  • As a member of the Technical Centre, carry out any other duties that may be necessary to ensure AbilityNet’s effectiveness and success

Knowledge, Experience & Skills Required

  • Comprehensive technical knowledge of Microsoft and Apple based operating systems and associated software applications including a comprehensive understanding of the Microsoft Office family
  • Working technical knowledge of a range PC and Apple based hardware
  • Experience with providing front line technical support both on-site and remotely using remote desktop software solutions/telephone
  • Experience in diagnosing and supporting network issues
  • Experience with hosted or cloud software solutions, including web hosting and the MS Exchange messaging platform
  • Experience with CRM/ERP management systems
  • Keenness to acquire systems development skills, predominantly within the NetSuite environment
  • Excellent numeracy and literacy
  • Ability to communicate effectively via a number of different media (telephone, email, letter)
  • An effective team worker with a flexible attitude in carrying out different types of work
  • Self-motivated and prepared to learn new skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise own workload
  • Physically able to lift and carry
  • Access to a car as requirement to travel to other sites
