Coaching Responsibilities

COACHING EXPERIENCE - READ THE FOLLOWING INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY BEFORE LISTING COACHING EXPERIENCES

  1. Use a separate line for each year of experience as a coach (see example on back of sheet). It is important that this instruction be followed without exception.
  2. List only coaching experience in public schools or state accredited private schools as a full-time teacher. Do not list intramural, recreational or club coaching. Do not list coaching in a private school unless the school was accredited by your State Department during the year or years you taught in that school.
  3. In giving title and address of the official in charge of teacher personnel records, or the official who can verify your coaching experience, be sure to give the name of the individual or office which has charge of all teacher personnel records in the county or other type school system in which you taught.
  4. List your experience under the proper year as printed on the form. If you did not coach during a specific year or years, write “Did not coach” under the proper year or years on the printed form. List only assigned coaching.
  5. All information listed on the reverse side will be used to verify coaching experience for salary purposes. It will be your responsibility to submit verification of coaching experience to Orange County Public Schools that is outside of Orange County Public Schools.

Criteria for Establishing Coaching Experience

  1. Military experience may not be applied to coaching experience.
  2. Coaching experience shall not exceed teaching experience.
  3. Coaching experience shall not be applied before certification for teaching.
