FOR THE SESSION 2016/2017
The 3rd meeting of IESL Eastern chapter commenced at 11.00 hrs on 20th Novemberr 2016 at Singing Fish Hotel-Batticaloa with the participation of 10 members. Chairman Eng.S.Jayanthan chaired the meeting. The chairman welcomed the members and expressed his pleasure on considerable attendance at the meetings.

1.0 Chairman welcomed those who were present for the third meeting of the Eastern Chapter for the Session 2016/2017. Also, he expressed his apologies for the delay of the 3rd meeting since it was scheduled to be held on 27/10/2016.
2.0 Confirmation of Previous Minute:
2nd meeting minute was confirmed without any amendments.
3.0 CPD Programs/Site Visits/Other Programs:
The following programs were discussed to be arranged during the period of November 2016-March 2017.
1) Co-Chairman, Batticaloa District Committee proposed to have “Young Engineers Hour” for the engineers in Batticaloa district every month in order to develop their presentation skill. During this session, one senior engineer and one junior engineer will present their site experiences. Also, he requested fund allocation from IESL-East for the refreshment during this session.
Committee approved the program and decided to ask Trinco and Ampara Co-Chairmen also to arrange such program. Further, fund allocation was also approved for the estimates submit by Co-Chairmen.

2) Annual Get together for IESL East members (Family Get together)
It was decided to have this program in December 2016 and most probably at Pasikkuda. Also, it was decided to bear a part of cost by IESL-East and to arrange transport from Batticaloa/Ampara/Trinco, if necessary.

Chairman informed that the SIAM City Cement (Lanka) Ltd is arranging an Engineers night for the IESL East engineers in Batticaloa district on 23/11/2016 at 6.30 p.m. The invitations are issued by them.
