A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO COMMEND AND CONGRATULATE DR. PERRY DAVIS OF PINEWOOD FOR HIS CONTINUED ENTHUSIASM AND DEDICATION TO THE MEDICAL PROFESSION AND TO EXTEND BEST WISHES TO HIM AND HIS FAMILY UPON HIS RETIREMENT AFTER FORTYTHREE YEARS OF SERVICE TO THE CITIZENS OF PINEWOOD AND SUMTER COUNTY.

Whereas, the members of the General Assembly are proud to recognize Dr. Perry Davis of Pinewood for his caring attitude, work ethic, and dedication to the medical profession; and

Whereas, since Dr. Davis opened his private practice on July 1, 1959, in Pinewood, the focus of his fortythree year career has always been the patients’ wellbeing, including making house calls into the rural areas in the dead of night; and

Whereas, during the course of his career, Dr. Davis has gained the reputation of being an excellent doctor who genuinely cares about his patients and his coworkers; and

Whereas, Dr. Davis’ thoughtfulness has been reciprocated, and he will be sorely missed throughout his community by those patients who have seen him for decades, some of whom he even delivered during the ten years his practice included obstetrics; and

Whereas, after working seventy hours a week, Dr. Davis plans to slow down and spend some time catching up on his reading; however, he is reluctant to completely abandon the practice of medicine, and will continue to see patients living in four nursing homes on a limited basis; and

Whereas, the members of the General Assembly extol Dr. Perry Davis for his outstanding and valuable service in the medical profession and sincerely wish him happiness in his retirement. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly commend and congratulate Dr. Perry Davis of Pinewood for his continued enthusiasm and dedication to the medical profession and extend best wishes to him and his family upon his retirement after fortythree years of service to the citizens of Pinewood and Sumter County.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Dr. Perry Davis of Pinewood.
