Sainsbury’s 2015 School Games - Volunteering Opportunity – 2014 Volunteers
September 3-6, Manchester
Around 1,500 of the nation’s finest young sports stars will take part in competition that re-enforces the experience of multi- sport events such as Commonwealth Games, Olympic and Paralympic Games complete with Opening and Closing Ceremonies.
The Sainsbury’s School Games and has a strong track-record of providing a springboard for athletes to go on and compete in international level at events such as London 2012 & Glasgow 2014.
Competition is planned to be held in twelve current and future Olympic and Paralympic sports: Fencing, Rugby 7s, Gymnastics, Hockey, Badminton, Athletics, Cycling (Track), Judo, Swimming, Table Tennis, Volleyball and Wheelchair Basketball.
There are disability events integrated in five sports programmes: Athletics, Fencing, Swimming, Table Tennis, Cycling plus one Paralympic only sport; Wheelchair Basketball.
Volunteers
We are looking for over 400 volunteers who will form part of a friendly, enthusiastic and skilled team to support the delivery of the event in a variety of roles.

Terms & Conditions
- The closing date for applications is Friday 29th May 2015. Applications received after this deadline may still be considered but early application is recommended.
- Successful applicants will be required to attend training onSaturday13th June 2015 at The New East Manchester Academy, 60 Grey Mare Lane, Beswick, M11 3DS.
- All volunteer will be subject Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check unless a certificate is provided or a valid check number is provided above.
- All volunteers must have completed the sport coach UK Safeguarding and Protecting children workshop; this will be provided as part of the training unless a valid certificate can be provided in advance.
