“The repeal of the local sales and use tax in the City of Manvel at the rate of one-fourth of one percent to provide revenue for maintenance and repair of municipal streets; and the increase of the rate of the local sales and use tax in the City of Manvel dedicated for the benefit of a Type B Economic Development Corporation from one-fourth of one percent to one-half of one percent, to undertake projects as described in Chapters 501-505, Texas Local Government Code, as amended from time to time, including, but not limited to: streets and roads, drainage, and related improvements; infrastructure and other projects that encourage the location of retail businesses and grocery stores to the City; projects to promote new or expanded business enterprises that create or retain jobs; public parks, park facilities, open space improvements, and landscape of public facilities; demolition of existing structures, or facilities that are related to any of the above projects; and any other projects that the board determines will promote new or expanded business enterprises that create or retain jobs; and the maintenance and operations expenses for any of the above described projects.”
