Livermore Satellite Maintenance Facility
Citizen Meeting Notes – Questions/Answers
3/26/2018
Where does drainage into detention/retention go?
Designed for 100 yr storm. Water is treated and released. Roughly 6 ac of ponds with overflow.
How is the wash bay drainage handled? Salts, etc?
Will meet health department guidelines and requirements. Haven’t figured out the system as we are early in design. Likely some type of waste water vessel storage
What amount of water usage is occurring with the equipment washing?
Approx. 140 gal/equipment at end of storm event
Will you explore gray water?
Likely not of interest based on info from CDOT Wellington site with amount of salts that remain in the water. Not a worthy reclamation process
Will there be extra traffic with the fueling station?
Don’t foresee an increased level. Already fuel at existing location. Plan to move the existing tank(s)
Why not build in “no man’s land” at 80C?
The County owns the proposed property on 74E. The use seems to fit the location, but will go through a Location & Extent Planning Commission Review for approval. If deemed a fit, an alternative site is not required.
It seems the County is spending a lot of money in figuring this site out. How much?
The County has a design contract with BWG for $600K. This is to design and engineer three satellite maintenance sites and buildings.
Seems like you have things designed with all the surveying going on.
The work onsite to date is to obtain surveying to obtain info for an ALTA as well as a geotech engineer has been taking soil samples and drilling to understand location of bedrock. All this info is needed to assist with the design and engineering of the site and building.
Will there be a lot of storage outside? Current location looks crummy and so does Waverly
The equipment will be parked inside the proposed enclosure as well as the lean to structure. Currently, equipment does not fit in the existing old building; therefore, all equipment has to be parked outside. Additionally, there will miscellaneous storage of materials in the layout area for road projects. The turnaround is fairly quick. All guardrail and culvert storage occurs in Waverly.
Is the current testing of Poudre/North Fork water quality going to be affected by this project?
Will meet all State/County regulations and environmental/pollutant requirement
Have you done an Environmental Study?
This is not a Federal project, no requirement.
When will this be submitted to the Planning Department and built?
We are currently funded for design only.
Will you provide Red Mountain out of Waverly?
No.
Will you drill a well as part of the design?
No.
Are you aware of the well issues here?
Yes.
What proximity to historical sites has been considered?
None and not required.
Building is nice, but doesn’t fit the ranching community.
