General: Calvary Tremont Missionary Baptist Church has faithfully served the community located east of downtown Columbus, for 88 years. The church is a member of the Eastern Union Missionary Baptist Association, Lott Carey Foreign Convention, and National Baptist Convention Inc. The church has a strong leadership and missionary effort history in the Columbus and central Ohio community. There are 100members on the membership roll. The Calvary Tremont Church is a loving and spirit-filled church family looking for the next pastor called by God.
Qualifications:
Calvary Tremont MB Church is seeking an ordained minister called by God to lead God’s people. The applicant must possess or be studying to obtain anaccredited theological degree, and have an established record of ministry experience with significant responsibilities in the role of previous pastorate or as an Associate/Assistant Pastor. The candidate’s personal character should be above reproach from within and outside the church. The candidate must have proven abilities to prepare and deliver motivating and inspirational bible based sermons; have a firm grasp of Baptist policy; a thorough belief and knowledge of the principles of our faith; and a demonstrated aptness for Bible-based teaching. The candidate must be a servant leader and visionary, be open-minded and compassionate, and model the Christian walk as identified by Jesus our Lord. The candidatemust have an appreciation for strong family values, possess high interpersonal skills, have skilled counseling ability, have a record of strong administrative and organizational abilities, and must demonstrate respect for both men and women in leadership roles in the church. The candidate should be or will become, a member of a National or State Baptist Convention/Association, andmust be dedicated to fulfilling the mission of the Calvary Tremont Missionary Baptist Church in harmony with God’s Holy Word.
Responsibilities:
The responsibilities of pastor would include (but are not limited to) leading all Sunday Services, visiting the sick & shut-in, teaching bible study, Sunday School teaching and participation, overseeing the meetings of the Joint Boards of Deacons, Deaconess, Trustees, and overseeing church administration.
