Wednesday, November 30, 2011 Edition #17
Dear Cathedral Parents,
I hope you and your family had a blessed Thanksgiving and that you enjoyed a period of relaxation.
Father Munshower is recovering from his surgery and is in rehabilitation at Community East Hospital. At this time, he is in no pain from his back and is beginning to walk with his boot for his broken ankle. Today, using modern technology, we called him before prayer, and using a speaker phone, he was able to lead Morning Prayer for all of us. Please continue to pray for his healing. We hope he can be back with us after second semester begins.
Our football team’s success in winning the 4A State Championship will be honored at our All-School Mass on Thursday, December 8th. These student-athletes celebrated a Mass before every game and prayed the rosary, so it is appropriate that they be honored on this Feast of the Immaculate Conception. Our liturgy will be from 9:30 – 11:00 a.m. in the Robert V. Welch Student Activity Center. If you are able to join us, we would be delighted to have you do so!
Our Mothers’ Club would like to request that a as many as possible of our Freshman Parents please donatetwo dozen cookies or brownies for the Sophomore Ring ceremony on Sunday, December 4th. They can be delivered here to school at the front desk on Thursday or Friday, December 1st and 2nd. If you have questions, please contact Shannon Fox @ for the answers.
The Climate Audit Survey that I had mentioned previously for sophomore and senior students and parents has been postponed until sometime after the first of the year. I will let you know more about this soon.

1. From the Desk of the Chaplains ~ Daily Mass is offered in the Chapel at 7:00 a.m. on each day. Fr. Zahn, our Chaplain, encourages members of the Cathedral Family to contact him to have a mass said in memory of a loved one. If you wish to register a Mass, please contact Sister Lynne at 968-7383 for details and arrangements. If you are not able to pay the $10, you may still submit an intention for our daily Mass. Morning Masses begin at 7:00 a.m. in the Cathedral Chapel.
2. If you wish to speak with a priest, please call Father John Zahn at 379-3054.
3. Since Father Munshower is in the hospital, reconciliation is available by appointment with Father John Zahn. If interested, please see Father to set a time.
4. Please remember to continue praying for Father Munshower, as he goes through back surgery and recovery. Father’s surgery was on November 21st. We will keep you updated on Father’s condition through these next few weeks. Our rotating masses have been put on hold until Father Munshower returns.

All students need to be aware that the semester exam will impact the semester grade that will be listed on their transcript. The two quarter grades and the semester exam grade comprise the semester grade. Teachers will weight that final exam grade between 10 percent and 20 percent of the student’s semester grade. Please check with each teacher to determine the individual policies.
All students are to take semester exams. Any absence from a final exam must be approved by Mrs. Ford, Vice Principal for Academic Affairs. Missing a final exam may result in a temporary grade of “incomplete” which may impact a student’s eligibility for co-curricular activities.
