v Your book review should be typed.
v It should be double-spaced.
v It should be written in size 12 font.
Book Review format:
v Write your name, homeroom, and English ID on the first line.
v Write the title and author of the book. Write the genre. Remember, a book title must be italicized.
v Copy the questions. Your answers must be in correct paragraph format.
v You must use evidence from the book to support your ideas.
v The last page MUST be a works cited page. You must use MLA style to cite the book you read and any other sources you used to write your review.
Choose THREE questions from the list below. Copy the questions. Restate the question in your answer. You must write in complete sentences. Use correct paragraph format. Make sure you provide examples from the book to support your ideas.
v What made you want to read it? Did it live up to your expectations? Why or why not? Explain using examples from the book.
v If a mystery is well-written the reader should suspect a number of characters throughout the story. Which characters did you think committed the crime? Did you guess the culprit before the end? Explain using examples from the book.

v In many mysteries, the setting or the main character’s job is important to the plot. Was that the case in this particular book? Did you feel like the author did a good job of drawing the reader into the setting? Explain using examples from the book..
v If a book is set in a different time period, what did you learn about the time period you didn’t know? How did the time period influence the characters’ actions and beliefs? Explain using examples from the book.
v Agatha Christie wrote in her autobiography about her dislike of mysteries having a romantic subplot. Do you agree or disagree with her views? Did this book have an element of romance? If so, do you feel the love aspect enhanced or detracted from the story? Explain using examples from the book.
