Tonight (Monday September 24) the Lady Arrow Volleyball Team takes on NWR at home. JV starts at 5:30; Varsity follows at 6:30. Pack the stands and support our girls! Tickets are $3 for Clinton students with their ID.

STUDENT ANNOUNCEMENT:

1.  NHS members: There are several projects listed in W207 for the next 2 weeks. Please come by W207 to sign up and fill these spots.

2.  This week is the last week to vote for the CSpire school spirit video. We are still 67 votes behind Tupelo! Please vote--ourschool can win up to $6,000 dollars--money that goes to benefit the students of CHS--that means you!

3.  The art club will be meeting before and after school Mon , Tues. and wed to finish the Homecoming float. Member’s dues need to be paid and permission slips for participation in the parade need to be returned.

4.  Media Club dues must be paid by Wednesday, September, 26th, 2012. You must pay during homeroom. Also don't forget to go the CHS website and answer the questions on the media club page.

5.  The yearbook staff is selling the COOLEST shades - get yours today - Pre-orders in room W109 or during 4/5. They are $10 - Retro '80's or Oakleys.

6.  REGULAR PARKING DECALS are on sale now. You must have your tag information with you in order to purchase a decal. The cost is $5.00.

7.  The list of members of the Journalism Club has been posted outside Mrs. Burns' room (W102) and Mr. Freeny's room (W113). Members, please plan to stop by our rooms on Monday to pick up an informational packet.

8.  Deadline to pay dues for SADD is Monday, September 24.

SADD -$5.00 dues or $15.00 with t-shirt.

9.  NHS Members: Club Dues of $5 are being collected each Tues and Thurs. from 7:50 to 8:15 at the east wing entrance (History Hall). These dues must be paid no later than Tues. Sept. 25

10.  FEA membership fees (12.00) are dueno later than October 2 to Mrs. Greene or Mrs. Ottis. Also, sign up for Family Read Night in one of their classrooms.

11.  Anyone interested in going to Disney World this summer, please see Mr. Solis, Señora, Mrs. Tompkins or Mrs. Woodard-Berry.

12.  2012 Yearbooks for juniors and seniors can be picked up in room W109 during4/5 or after school. Please do not interrupt class to pick up your book.

13. Sumner Hill Yearbooks will be delivered sometime in September. Books will be distributed through homerooms here at CHS.

14. Any student interested in going to Spain this summer should come pick up information from Mr. Freeny in W113.

15.  The Clinton Arrows Swim Team participated in a tri-meet this weekend at the Courthouse on Lakeland Drive against Tupelo High School and Madison Central High School. The Arrows did an amazing job and held their own against two very large High School teams. The Women’s team scored a total of 40 points against Tupelo and 45 points against Madison Central. The Men’s team scored a total of 35 points against Tupelo and 42 points against Madison Central.

16.  The Clinton Arrows Swim Team will be swimming again Saturday, October 13th, at the Courthouse on Lakeland Drive to try for qualifying times to qualify to swim in the big North State Meet to take place the following weekend, October 20th. Please come out and show your support.

The Women’s 200 Medley Relay “A” team with Kate Nye came in 6th. In the 200 Freestyle Relay, the “A” relay team of Kaylee Goff, Sarah Hogue, Anna Grace Dillard and Courtney Goff placed 4th and the “B” relay team with Claire Everett, Kate Nye, Hannah Milburn and Krystal Schmalz placed 8th. In the 400 Freestyle Relay, the “A” team of Kaylee Goff, Claire Everett, Sarah Hogue and Courtney Goff placed 4th.

The Men’s 200 Medley Relay “A” team of Noah Young, Bill McClendon, Evan Jones and Troy Spencer placed 5th. In the 200 Freestyle Relay, the “A” relay team of Jay Rao, Graham Poag, Woody Spencer and Jared Landry came in 6th. In the 400 Freestyle Relay the “A” team of Evan Jones, Noah Young, Troy Spencer and Bill McClendon came in 4th and the “B” team of Woody Spencer, Jay Rao, Jared Landry and Graham Poag came in 6th.

The CHS Women consisting of Claire Everett, Courtney Goff, Kate Nye and Sarah Hogue swam with Arrow pride. In the 50 Freestyle, Courtney placed 1st, while Claire tied for 21st place and Kate placed 28th. In the 100 Freestyle, Claire came in 19th. Once again Sarah showed her endurance by coming in 5th in the 500 Freestyle. In the 100 Backstroke, Courtney came in 1st and Sarah came in 5th. Kate Nye swam in the 100 Yard Breaststroke and came in 12th.

The CHS Men consisting of Bill McClendon, Jared Landry and Troy Spencer also had some great swims. In the 200 Freestyle, Troy Spencer placed 8th. In the 50 Freestyle, Bill McClendon placed 8th, Jared Landry came in 17th and Jay Rao came in 19th. Jay placed 7th in the 100 Butterfly. In the 100 Freestyle, Jared Landry placed 21st. Once again Troy showed his endurance by placing 9th in the 500 Freestyle. And in the 100 Breaststroke, Bill McClendon came in 5th place.

SENIOR ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Seniors - If you have not made your appointment for Senior formal pictures, Mr. Ray will be here to take those on Oct. 4. You must sign up with me for an appointment. You will need to bring your sitting fee of $25 with you to take your picture. Sign up in Room W109.

GUIDANCE OFFICE ANNOUNCEMENTS

Get 2 College/Education Services Foundation will be awarding 50, $1,000 scholarships to students who participate in their 500 word essay contest. Essay topics are "You've just written a 300 word autobiography. Send us page 217." Completed application and essay is due Dec. 1st. The applications can be found in the Career Center in the Counseling Office or online at www.get2college.org.
