Members of NATO Forces have to be registered at the waste management office
Please note, that persons not required to register at the residents´ registration office - usually members of the NATO Forces - have to be registered at the waste management office of the county administration by the home owner in writing or by phone. The home owner is obliged to do this. Also he has to cancel the household, when the members of NATO Forces move. In case of changes in the ownership, please notify in writing. The delivery time for trash cans is approx. 2 weeks. Until the bins arrive you can purchase special garbage bags at the Kaiserslautern county administration or at your municipal administration. The waste fee is not charged until the containers have been supplied. It is not allowed, to bring waste on Base.

Information about “composting in garden”
If a household has no bio container and you applied for a reduction of trash fees because of composting organic wastes in your own garden, it is absolutely necessary and your duty, to do so. Organic waste which can be composted in the own garden do not belong in the black residual waste bin. Therefore we are making Inspections during the year. Personnel of the county administration will visit properties and will control whether, in households that declare having a composter (thermo composter or compost pile), they really have one and if it gets used. In cases where we do not find a possibility for composting organic waste, although that household gets a reduction of fees, the reduction will be taken away and a fine proceedings because of an infringement will be initiated. Besides that a brown trash container for organic wastes will be set up and the full amount of the trash fee will be taken in future. For setting up a bio can, another fee of 25 € for delivery will be charged.
The glass container locations
are no dumping places
Please use the glass containers Monday - Saturday from 8 a.m. - 1 p.m. and from 3 p.m. - 7 p. m. Not on Sundays or German holidays. Put the clean bottles, pickle and jelly jars without screw caps or corks sorted by color into the respective container.
Placing glass, paper, or other garbage on, beside, behind or in front of the containers is illegal, strictly forbidden and punishable by law!
What needs to be considered before moving?
If you want to request bulk waste or electrical appliances pick up please note, that the waiting period for both pick ups is approx. 4 weeks. The pick ups are free of charge.

For non-recyclable waste, which do not fits in the grey container, you can purchase non-recyclable waste bags at the municipal administration or at the county administration. One bag costs 4 €. Recyclable stuff can be brought to the recycling centre in Kindsbach, Hirtenpfad 65 or to ZAK recycling centre in Kapiteltal (direction of Mehlingen).
