Nobody Does it Better:
How to Write an ESEA
Flexible Learning Program (FLP) Plan

Multiple Selection Criteria Middle School

The ABC Middle school will us the following multiple, educationally related selection criteria for the first step in selecting students for FLP services in mathematics.

Sixth Grade List for Math: The multiple selection criteria used will be the CRCT/CRCT-M Math test and whether or not a student was promoted or retained. The weight will be as follows:

CRCT

0- 300= 5 points

301-500= 4 points

501-700= 3 points

701-799= 2 points

800-820= 1 point

Above 821= 0 points

CRCT-M

0-300= 5 points

301-319= 4 points

320-329= 3 points

330-339= 2 points

340-349= 1 point

Above 350= 0 points

The weight applied to promotion/retention will be as follows:

PROMOTED/RETAINED/PLACED

Retained/Placed= 3 points

Promoted= 0 points

Seventh Grade List for Math: The multiple selection criteria used will be the CRCT/CRCT-M Math test and whether or not a student was promoted or retained. The weight will be as follows:

CRCT

0- 300= 5 points

301-500= 4 points

501-700= 3 points

701-799= 2 points

800-820= 1 point

Above 821= 0 points

CRCT-M

0-300= 5 points

301-319= 4 points

320-329= 3 points

330-339= 2 points

340-349= 1 point

Above 350= 0 points

The weight applied to promotion/retention will be as follows:

PROMOTED/RETAINED/PLACED

Retained/Placed= 3 points

Promoted= 0 points

Eighth Grade List for Math: The multiple selection criteria used will be the CRCT/CRCT-M Math test and whether or not a student was promoted or retained. The weight will be as follows:

CRCT

0- 300= 5 points

301-500= 4 points

501-700= 3 points

701-799= 2 points

800-820= 1 point

Above 821= 0 points

CRCT-M

0-300= 5 points

301-319= 4 points

320-329= 3 points

330-339= 2 points

340-349= 1 point

Above 350= 0 points

The weight applied to promotion/retention will be as follows:

PROMOTED/RETAINED/PLACED

Retained/Placed= 3 points

Promoted= 0 points

Total Points will be calculated for each student and then students will be rank ordered from greatest number of points to least number of points. Students with the greatest number of points will be considered most at risk of failing to meet minimum proficiency on the State’s academic achievement standards and the State’s academic assessments in mathematics. Students will then be selected for service from this rank ordered list based on the four Federal rank tiers for service in the FLP. Documentation of the multiple selection criteria will be kept for documentation and the rank order of students will match the list(s) of the students being served in the Flexible Learning Program.
