Summary of the role: / Bedford Modern School is an Independent Co-educational Day School. There are in excess of 1200 pupils in the School from age 7 to 18. The School is governed by the Harpur Trust.
The School is located on the outskirts of Bedford with commanding views of the Bedfordshire countryside. It is very accessible to major road links and to the main train line, London St Pancras being only 37 minutes from Bedford. Job Title:FinanceAssistant
Location:Bedford Modern School, Manton Lane, Bedford MK41 7NT
Salary: £18,283 pro rata
Hours:
9.30 - 3.00 Term Time, plus 15 days @ 4hours during the holidays
Job Purpose:To provide support to the Finance Department under the supervision of the Finance Officer.
Reporting Line:Finance Officer
Main duties and responsibilities / To assist with the day to day operation of the finance department.
To aid in responding to enquiries and contact from other departments, suppliers and parents
To perform various clerical accounting tasks in support of the Finance Officerincluding the use of EBIS to assist with enquiries, reports, processing of orders, invoices, journals and payments and the reconciling and monitoring of Trips, Productions and Events
To assist with the processing of fees extras using the PASS system
To assist the Finance Officer with other routine tasks as required
To undertake any other duties, appropriate to a post of this grade, as may be required from time to time that are necessary for the effective function of the school.
To maintain absolute confidentiality in all school related matters and to prevent disclosure of information on sensitive issues.
The post holder is required to operate within school policies and procedures, including Equal Opportunities and Health and Safety policies.
