We did it! Last Friday marked the end of the first quarter and we are already busy focusing on our second quarter objectives. It was great to highlight so many students during our ROAR Pep Rally. We handed out 391 certificates for students who followed our ROAR behaviors, 206 certificates for students who had outstanding attendance (only missing 1 day of school with no tardies and less than 2 early dismissals). In addition, 72 students were recognized for Academic Achievement, Most Improved, and Being Good Citizens with twelve students recognized as Golden ROAR students for going above and beyond each day.

We did it! Each family from Guilford submitted or verified their child’s emergency contact information. Thank you! If any contact information changes throughout the school year, you can update the information by clicking on the HCPSS connect link on the HCPSS webpage.

We want to meet with you! Don’t forget to sign up for conferences starting on Monday, Nov. 9th. Our goal is to meet/talk with each one of our families.

Look for your child’s report card on Monday, Nov. 9th. We will send home your child’s report card home in a large white envelope and are asking that you sign and return the envelope only on Tuesday. Thank you!

Jonathan

Federal Impact Aid Survey was sent home with students last week. Public Law 81-874 is federal legislation that provides financial assistance from the federal government to local school systems based on the number of students whose parents/guardians work more than 50% of the day on federally owned property in the State of Maryland, as of the survey date (October 2, 2015). The parent/guardian can be employed by the federal government or by a contractor working on a project on federally owned property located in the State of Maryland. Also counted are students whose parents are serving as active military anywhere in the world. Please take a moment to complete the survey and return to school by Friday, November 13th.
