A RESOLUTION adjourning the House of Representatives in honor and loving memory of Patrick J. McKay IV.

WHEREAS, Pat McKay was born on October 10, 1953, the cherished son of Jane Stahl McKay and the late Pat McKay, Jr.; and

WHEREAS, Pat McKay was a graduate of the St. Patrick School, Maysville Community College, Morehead State University, and the Ohio Institute of Photography; and

WHEREAS, Pat McKay was a special education teacher at Augusta and a religion teacher at St. Patrick School. He had graduated from Morehead State at the age of 50 and was a member of the Knights of Columbus, DeKalb Lodge, Moose Lodge, and KACo; and

WHEREAS, a tireless advocate of his hometown and its citizens, Pat McKay was elected as Mason County Commissioner in 1994 and served for 21 years. He was a member of the Joint Mason County Ambulance Committee, the Mason County Budget Committee, the Roads and Bridge Committee, the Renaissance Board, and the Buffalo Trace District Health Board; and

WHEREAS, Pat McKay was a proud member of St. Patrick Church; and

WHEREAS, Pat McKay departed this earthly life and entered the kingdom of Heaven on March 22, 2015, leaving his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched with his presence in solemn mourning; and

WHEREAS, Pat McKay was preceded in death by his father and his brother-in-law, Chaplain Lt. Col. Donald Hunter. He is survived by his mother; his wife of 31 years, Gayle H. McKay; his sons, Brent Curtis and his wife, Angel, and Todd Curtis; his grandchildren, Carlee Curtis, Brady Curtis, Zoe Curtis, and Gabriel Curtis; his brothers, Mike, Leo, Joe, Victor, Dan, Gerald, Dennis, Bernard, and Phil; his sister and brother-in-law, June and Arnold Wolfe; and his special friends, Kelly, Sandy, and Flynn Ashley;

NOW, THEREFORE,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

âSection 1. The House of Representatives hereby expresses its deepest and most profound condolences upon the passing of Patrick J. McKay IV, and extends its heartfelt sympathy to his family, friends, and community in this time of loss.

âSection 2. When the House of Representatives adjourns this day, it does so in honor and loving memory of Patrick J. McKay IV.

âSection 3. The Clerk of the House of Representatives is directed to transmit a copy of this Resolution to Representative Mike Denham for delivery.
