New mag.x 125 inspection system delivers unparalleled image quality across broad fields of view

OEMs can now integrate exceptional imaging performance for greater throughput in critical inspection applications

Feldkirchen Germany, February 04, 2014–The mag.x system 125 inspection system stands out due to its exceptional image quality covering large fields-of-view. Its high numericalaperture (NA), the low overall magnifications and the large image circlemake the mag.x system 125 ideal for use with high-resolution and large-formatdetectors in critical biomedical imaging and industrial inspectionapplications.

High optical quality is not only ensured on the optical axis, but is also maintained over the entire sensor format. Withthe Tube Lens 2.25x, sensor formats up to 56 mm aresupported. Thanks to long working distances and correctionof the lenses without cover glasses, this system can beuniversally employed. Exact object-side telecentricity isprecisely maintained, preventing distortion of measurementresults due to three-dimensional objects or variation of theobject position.

The high quality of the image can be fully exploited only ifthe object illumination is optimally adapted. This is why themag.x system 125 has a built-in coupled illumination beam bath (verticalilluminator) for bright-field reflected light illumination. The lighting system operates on the Köhler principle, with adjustable aperture andfield stops. Thus the lighting and coherence parameters of the image (relationshipof illumination and imaging aperture) can be optimally adjusted to individualinspection tasks.Furthermore, the pupil can be adjusted to the particular lens used, ensuring the

optimum telecentric illumination for any lens.
