July 2016 All-Star Newsletter

Our teams are doing great thus far! We, the coaches, have seen tremendous improvement in all of our athletes since the start of the season. Flexibility among flyers seems to be a large focus for our Program at this time so if all teams could have the flyers arrive 10-15 minutes prior to practice and start stretching that would be great! This will allow the coaches to “really stretch” them prior to stunting! We have a really busy July so please make note of the following dates/times.

Summer Schedule: (No Sunday practices). We will start the school schedule again August, 1st, 2016 (Sunday practices will begin August 7th, 2016).

*We made some slight adjustments to the FALL times based on conflicts and church. Please make note and thank you for your cooperation.

Practice Clothes: We will not make practice clothes a normal practice attire until ALL athletes have received their apparel however, you may wear yours if you choose.

Specialty classes: Your athlete may attend any and all of the following classes throughout the summer. These classes replace the “Sunday” practice time. Please feel free to take advantage of ALL of them if you choose. Building strength and flexibility is a big focus for our athletes. (Effective June 1st). These classes will end Thursday, July 28th.

  • Open gym policy for all-stars: We encourage our athletes to come in and work on their skills outside of practice time. Therefore, we do allow our athletes to come in on their own and work. As long as they are not interfering with scheduled classes, they are free to do so anytime the gym is open (please note, they will not have a coach during their open gym time). All athletes have received a personal goal to reach by the end of summer! The team with the most reached goals will receive a PIZZA PARTY!!

Hotel info: Our teams will have 3 travel events this season. (Flurries will only travel to one). Below is the info concerning each event. Skills camp:This camp is VERY IMPORTANT and MANDATORY as this is where your athletes will be finalized in their stunt groups and start learning the stunt transitions/pyramid sequences for their routines.

Choreography Camp: This camp is MANDATORY. Please make arrangements to be there the entire time! This camp is where the athletes will learn their routine for the season.
