9. What plans have you made to contain the dog during that time? (Crate, fenced yard...etc). Please remember we will be glad to help you by offering training tips, answer questions and take your calls.

11. Tell us a little about the pets you do own or have owned in the past 5 years- likes, dislikes any training and so forth. Have you ever surrendered an animal to a rescue group or shelter? If so explain.

Are your current pets up to date on shots and spayed/neutered?

12. Are you willing to take an obedience class with your pet should that be necessary? Training your new pet is vital to your success as owners. Positive training also builds a lifelong bond between you and your pet plus establishes pack leadership order in your household.

13. Does your family have quality time to devote to a new pet at this time? We just want to be sure you are prepared for what is ahead. Training, care, exercise all take a great deal of time. It is a big responsibility/commitment for the next 10-15 years if you are lucky.

14. Are you willing to staying in touch with us so that we can help you as needed? YesWe put a great deal of love into each pet who resides here at Heavensown and love to get pictures and updates on their progress.

15. Do you understand that in getting a pet from Heavesown that you will sign an agreement to have your pet spayed/neutered within 2 months of purchase if we have not already had this done? We do require you mail us proof that this has taken place within 1 month of adoption date if we have not done this already? We usually do this before adoption unless they pet is too young for surgery.

17. Is anyone in your home allergic to dogs? Please explain if the answer is yes.

18. Describe the ideal temperament that you think would fit your lifestyle-

(Tell us a little about what your lifestyle is like and what plans you have for a puppy. Include how physically active you and your family are. Would a high endurance pet that needs lots of energy better suit your family or a pet that will require less activity?

19. Would you ever consider letting a pet ride loose in the back of a truck while it was moving?

20. If you do get a pet from us, would you agree that if down the road you must give up your pet for some unforeseen reason…

You would first contact us about where you would like to place the dog and offer us the chance to re-home the pet if necessary at no cost to us. You agree not to resale the pet or place it in any shelter.

21. Do you agree to keep your pet current on all shots and healthcare? This includes monthly heartworm preventive, which kills thousands of dogs and cats every year.

22. Do you have any questions for us? If so feel free to ask. We are always here to helpyou with training tips, or any other concern you may have after you get your pet.

23. Will this pet be in allowed inside your home? If not explain why and your plans for suitable shelter for this pet while outside.

Where will your pet sleep at night?

24. Dogs sometimes tend to be territorial and protective of their homes. Some Dogs feel it is their job to guard their home and family. I am not referring to a very aggressive behavior just barking when someone arrives and they may be reserved with strangers. Would this cause you concern and how do you think you would handle this situation?

We have a buyer/seller adoption agreement that covers basically all the above that you will be given at the time your pick you your new companion.
