Appointed Position Packet

Attached is the information packet for students interested in applying for an appointed position in Student Government for Fall Term 2016. This packet contains important dates, deadlines, and responsibilities for the position you are seeking. Submit all the forms in the packet by:

Wednesday, March 16th, 2016

All forms need to be turned into the Student Services Office or Room M-2. Anything turned in after 3:00 P.M. will NOT be accepted.

All applicants are required to meet the following criteria to apply:

¨  Maintain a grade point average of 2.5 during the term of office

¨  Maintain satisfactory citizenship in all classes

¨  Have a passing grade in all classes during their term in office

¨  Have a good attendance and behavioral record

¨  Complete the application/interview process

¨  Understand and meet their responsibilities

¨  Enroll in the Student Government class during 2nd or 3rd period for Fall Semester 2016

¨  Attend Camp Oakmont Student Government Retreat May 31 – June 2

*If you are unable to meet or arrange to meet these requirements, do not apply for Student Government for the Fall 2016 term.

If elected or appointed, I agree to enroll in the Student Government class next Fall. I agree to attend the three day Student Government leadership retreat to be held May 31-June 2, 2016. I agree to set up, clean up, and attend all ASB and class sponsored activities throughout the term. I agree to maintain a grade point average of 2.5 and have a passing grade in all my classes during my term in office, maintain satisfactory citizenship in all classes, and have a good attendance record. If appointed, I solemnly pledge myself to faithfully discharge the duties of my ASB office and to faithfully abide by all its requirements.

During the first week in April you will schedule a 10 minute interview during either 1st or 4th period on any of those days by completing the following:

·  Stop by M-2, call or email Mr. Moore to see what times are still available as soon as possible.

·  Take this form and have your teacher during that period approve you being out of class for 15 minutes (ten minute interview, plus the time go to and leave M-2).

·  This interview is a great opportunity to practice for future jobs.

·  Your packet will already be submitted and we will discuss your responses to the four questions.

·  We will discuss what position in the program you would like and what it would require of you.

·  We will also discuss your interest in running for a class officer or ASB position and make sure you are prepared to do so.
