MIDWEEK MEMBERSHIP EXPLAINED
Joining our tennis club is a very enjoyable way to improve your fitness and general health as well as your social life. You will be getting fresh air and exercise whilst having fun and meeting new people. Learning or developing your tennis skills provides an interest that stays with you throughout your entire life.
This is a very friendly club. The club helps organise arranged groups of four or more, as well as friendly tournaments throughout the year. In addition, there are opportunities for more competitive matches through our club tournaments. As new friendships grow you will, of course, often make your own arrangements to play with other members.
At Old Wilsonians we have group coaching sessions for adults – whether novices, improvers or those returning to the game after a gap. Personal 1-2-1 coaching is also available on request.
Midweek membership offers –
· the ability to play morning, afternoon and evening from Monday to Friday but not at all at weekends
· entry to specific organised tournaments throughout the year which take place on a Saturday or Sunday (the Brian Morley Tournament and the George Rice Tournament)
· the opportunity to enter the Handicap and Club Tournaments.
Midweek members are only eligible to play in league matches which do not take place on a Saturday or Sunday.
The fee for midweek membership is £135. If you join part way through the year the annual membership fees are charged on a pro rata basis.
The club provides the tennis balls and there are no other fees except for the use of floodlights, when that is necessary.

We do hope you will come and join us. You will need to complete the enclosed membership application form. This includes sections so you can give us all the data we need to make sure we look after you, and keep you properly informed.
You will see there is also a box on the form about becoming a member of British Tennis. As a club we are encouraged by the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) to help our members join British Tennis – which is part of the LTA. Membership is free and brings certain benefits in terms of discounted tickets for tennis events. Indeed, ONLY British Tennis members are entitled to purchase the Wimbledon tickets that the club is allocated each year.
